I've been in several things with the police in the past 28 years on bikes, but so long as you are respectful, compliant, and complimentary, they will most often let you go with a verbal warning. I think far too many new riders take the lessons from GTA5 as gospel. Younger folk now are so dim when it comes to who is in charge

I'd like to say 2 things: 1. You are lucky to have never had an interaction with a cop who is not a professional. Trust me, from research as well as recent personal experience there are those who are egotistical jerks who lie, break department policies, and write false citations simply because they can. And yes, I complied with his directives, never swore, never raised my voice. They are out there and it happens. 2. I have to respectfully disagree that we must simply assume all police are upstanding, professional, worthy of respect, and should automatically be 'in charge' of everyone. Law enforcement training and policies, district and supreme court case law, and changing political motivations (war on drugs, qualified immunity, civil asset forfeiture, etc.) has wrought a tremendous change in the practice of law enforcement. I feel it's been a negative change. Thankfully we are all allowed our opinions, and you and I aren't really far apart on those, but I encourage you to broaden your view. I guess I'm trying to say that I treat law enforcement with courtesy, as I do everyone, but it's spiced with a strong dose of what I would call "wary regard and attentiveness". After what I've learned in the past couple of years, I can no longer simply trust in the integrity of police. If you care to do some research yourself, I suggest two KZbin channels to get you started: Audit the Audit and Lackluster. in my state you still have to have a temp tag or display a transport tag you can print off from the DMV website. There is no exemption in most states for not displaying some sort of tag

For the first clip, we only need a license and a plate if we are driving. That means being paid to transport people or goods. If you bought a motorcycle with your own money, it's legally private property. And considered traveling with your own property. Same for the second clip. Cop says "you can't do this with something you paid for". Yes, we can. The only thing that needs to be registered with the government is a s*x offender.

The cop is wrong 50cc and under you don't need a license you don't need a permit you just need a back sticker and depending on where you are you also need just a moped back license plate and that's and you need to register the bike which is just a sticker that goes in the back for 2 years and once they expires you just need to reset the new sticker but if you have the sticker on the back then your good all you have to do is just drive on the side of the if you need to turn make a left turn to emerge into the traffic and then merge to the left lane
