I agree. It blows my mind how these scumbags can openly steal from honest people and then just shrug their shoulders and say "Talk to my attorney". I PERSONALLY know some people who were scammed by guys like this (not this much money but it was upwards of ten grand) and based on court filings and bankruptcy laws the scumbag could hide behind, my friends are out of luck, but the person who stole from them live in a gorgeous house and live a very good life. I don't understand how THEY aren't afraid of someone taking care of them, if you get my drift.

Contractors like to rob Peter to pay Paul, they do it all the time, however, most at some point make good on there contracts and no one is the wiser. It’s a razor’s edge when they conduct business this way and sometimes they fall off and CANNOT get back up. It’s unfortunate for the customers, usually the contractor will just file for bankruptcy and call it a day. Note to the consumer: If the contractor can’t fund the project himself or with investors and asks you to pay a substantial amount up front you now know why. Never put more than a small good faith deposit down. 👍👍👍

What do you think would happen to this dude, if he ripped off a member of, I don't know,.. the mafia. I suppose he would get a visit and suffer a broken leg, and some big lumps on his head, and maybe a chipped tooth or so. An invitation to go to the Police, and a reminder that the enforcer will be released within a few hours. He would be risking another beating and possibly his life. The money would miraculously appear the next day. That is the only language they understand.

@jimwerther Жыл бұрын
@@andwhat346 How do you know they had a license at the time? If they used to be licensed previously, Rob would have mentioned it, so I doubt they ever were. As to reviews? Don't trust online reviews when spending massive sums of money. Only use contractors who get personally recommended to you by people you know, and only if those people had jobs completed by them already, not just started. Every contractor I've hired came highly recommended by people who vouched for their work. I did have one plumber who turned out to be lousy, but thankfully it was a pretty small job. Usually, though, if your friend says they've used the guy several times in the past five or ten years and he's always done a great job, you should come out okay. Online reviews? Those can be faked easily enough.
