Well seeing as how most of the people in the videos were WHITE he is not saying a damn thing about race...it's about a behavior. If YOU equate black people with that behavior YOU are the racist. Pay closer attention. Dad was dead on on this, he saw the truth! Dr King was and is the way. Aldean is talking about CRIMINALS plain and simple.

Question. If I come in your neighborhood and start rioting, robbing, setting shit on fire, are you just gonna sit back and watch? Or are you going to try and stop me and any others attempting to do that shit? Probably the latter. He is saying that if try that in a "small town," you're, (not you personally) but instigators in general, that you're gonna fuck around and find out. Where you're inviting him to your town, he's going to respect your town and not start rioting or causing problems. You're trying to make it about race, when it's about respecting other people's property and homes.

This is a perfect example of the difference between the generations. This young man had his mind made up, before ever hearing the song, that it was racist. Probably because a group of friends or social media told him that. The other gentleman is a lot more collected and is actually paying attentiin to the video and the lyrics. He's looking at it objectively and that normally comes with age and life experience.

He saw things that were there based off someone feeding him the “he’s racist” comment. His father spoke in a way to make his son think. The video is clearly not racist. But there are things that could easily be misconstrued to be seen as “racist”
@loriallen4662

@@DominiqueAyyo It was/is a teachable moment and the dad can choose how he wants to educate his son based on this videos content. It would have been nice if the father knew to tell his son that black people were not the only ones to be lynched. Whites were also lynched for crimes, including trying to help save blacks from slavery. Black Lives Matter includes white people committing crimes during the “protests” which turned into violent riots. The video also showed a white woman and a hispanic woman. That was never pointed out to the kid and could have sparked a discussion. The message is that you commit a crime like this in a small town, and you won’t get away with it - because we all look out for each other. Funny how one person decided to say this was a racist video and so many went wild and ran with it, including Josh, ignorant of the facts. I truly hope he posts a part 2 after he has an epiphany.

Here I am 8 months later and it still floors me watching this. I really enjoy the content these two put out. I understand that everyone has and is entitled to an opinion. With that just as important is the right for anyone to VOICE said opinion however they see fit. However, I unfortunately see something happen far too often, especially among the younger crowd. I see too many people open their mouths and spew nonsense they heard in the "echo chamber". People will hear someone saying something and whatever is being said becomes "fact" to them. they don't form their own opinion without prior bias swaying how they feel about something they know nothing about. I hope that all made sense. I would stand tall and dare ANYONE to tell me one thing Jason said in this song that portrayed an individual race of people in an unfavorable light. Name just one thing he said that even hinted at a race of people let alone tell me something he said that projects a negative opinion of any individual race. All I hear in this song is a man from a small town saying that all the rioting, violence, and destructive foolishness that is going on in so many communities around the country would not fly for a second where he is from. saying that the people from his hometown would have something to say about it if it was happening there. please don't convince yourself that you are a victim ever. I don't know about y'all but I damn sure won't let any man treat me like a victim so why would I treat myself as one. sorry for the novel. I just felt some sort of way about this one.

They need to point out exactly and explain specifically what is one thing racist in this song, if there is to be a shred of any evidence to the claim that the song is racist, which the son said, otherwise he is making a serious false accusation or smearing an innocent person. The dad spoke far more sense than the son did, at least in the beginning of the reaction. I did not find one thing racist in this song, despite watching and listening carefully. several times. Also, I have listened to many reactions of people with different skin colors that didn't find one racist thing in the song, in fact, the vast majority liked the song and the message. The message being about wholesale, solid family, and community values and against looters, vandals, those that assault others, and all kinds of violence. Anyone with with any sense and a working moral compass would be in full support of these decent, neighborly, peaceful people, who will show up and help a neighbor in need and will assist police and all law enforcement, in opposing those that steal, attack injure and kill others, and destroy or vandalize public or private property.

That same courthouse was also used to film a scene for the movie Hannah Montana. It’s a well know place to shoot productions. The song isn’t about race, it’s about taking care of your neighbors. Also, young man you need to be a bit more respectful to your elders, we have much more life experience than you do, not to mention wisdom. Also, stop listening to the media, they’re making people go crazy.

Jason Aldean had a sold out concert in Chicago, he's not afraid to go to big cities. The song (and video) isn't racist, when it calls out acting a fool, and shows men and women of many races as examples... And the cops were just as many races too. Now I can't speak for the artist, I don't know the man personally. What I do know personally, is I have never encountered a Sundown Town, because we won. The racist generations are in nursing homes, (or refuse to give up their seats in D.C.) we grew up different. "Around here we take care of our own," means we take care of ALL of our neighbors. My father actually drew down on 3 guys who were trying to steal our Mexican neighbor's car, and that was the mid 1990's.
@Reaper32c

I grew up in the South. In the 70 and 80s. As a young man I had friends of different races. We do take care of our own like this song states. If you live in our community we see you as part of us no matter your race. If your house caught on fire all the neighbors would come and help no matter what.what this song is saying is we won't stand by and let any group of people burn our stores, businesses, and home hurt and kill our neighbors. The color of their skin doesn't matter. If a group showed up like they did in the cities they would be met with a lot of people of all colors and creeds armed ready to fight and die to protect their neighbor.their homes and businesses. The main stream media wants to paint this picture to divide us. Because the same corrupt politicians of both parties want it that way. That way we are not standing together and holding them accountable as they rob us blind sending our money to other countries while they are getting big cuts of our money. I have definitely seen racism in my lifetime. The best way to stop racism in my opinion is to teach our children to never judge another human being by the color of our skins but rather by their actions. If they are good to you be good to them if they are not cut your ties forgive them and move on. and I humbly respect different opinions .

Just want to let yall know that the song is not racist. Jason is pointing out all the violence that occurred involving BLM, ANTIFA, etc. Not everyone who participated in the violence was black. Just like not wvery car jacker is black. Every race of people has criminals. It’s not about race. Jason did say that if he knew what he knows now about that building, he wouldn’t have filmed it there. But hundreds of courthouses have had lynchings happen throughout the Jim Crow era in the south.so it’d be hard to pick a building or location to film that did not have a tragedy occur. His message is to stop protesting for stupid stuff, like George Floyd who was a career criminal who refused to follow orders. Sure, the officer could have taken measures to prevent Floyd’s death, but so could Floyd. And the officer did not premeditate any of it. Had George Floyd complied with a lawful order, he would still be alive. Maybe serving a few years in prison, but alive. This is because Black lives aren’t the only lives that matter. All lives matter. There are more black people murdering each other than there are white people killing black people. This is why we need Trump. He’ll take care of our boarder, get the flow of drugs like Fentanyl to stop coming in at such a rapid rate. We’re going to clean up the streets. Jobs will be brought back in droves, and education will improve so that people won’t have to depend on the government and affirmative action because their level of intelligence will be enough to propel them to a great future. We want to reduce welfare by reducing the number of people who receive the assistance by giving them the assistance to get off welfare through job training and other programs to help people improve their lives by giving them the tools to succeed.

the verse "we take care of our on" means to me the people I grew up with, became friends almost like brothers with, no matter the tone of their skin. I truly have brothers from another mother that I will always have their back, and they will have mine. I believe the courthouse is in Tenn, where a black man was lynched in the early 1900's. Jason is from Macon, which isn't a small town. The group that he is talking about are the ones rioting, breaking laws, etc. I don't think he's talking about BLM as a whole, or just that group. Just the ones assaulting people, burning down buildings, etc. Once you open up your mind and truly start to think for yourself, you become a powerful individual. First start by not believing anything you hear from mainstream media news outlets. I love the deep meaning of one greatest song writers ever....Bob Marley - Redemption song : "Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, None but ourselves can free our minds".

I'm in rural Texas. Many of us are more concerned with white people with bad agendas instigating these type of things which is going on more than people realize trying to purposely make things worse. And they allow it to get out of hand in big cities cause they are afraid of bad publicity, but we ain't scared about the media here. This song just means you can protest, you got your rights as an American, but for all people just don't get out of pocket down here cause black and white and Hispanic we are Americans and will take care of our neighbors, and you not fixing to set the flag on fire, destroy businesses or property, or be aggressive with our police. The police know the citizens of all races here, most of them do a good job, and they're our neighbors, too. You follow the law and so will we. You break it we'll deal with your behavior. And it tells the government don't try that stuff like in big cities where they give you something for turning in your guns. That will not be successful here. We ain't giving them up period. They want to take the weapons so we can't protect ourselves from harm and the government. They want all the power. That's why they are pitting races against each other. They know we've got more power together, and they try to prevent that. Races get along together better in small town than big cities, and I've lives in Dallas and Chicago and been to every state. This little town in Texas has less racism than any of them.

@iceman22m Ай бұрын
Let me start by saying, I hate this song! Well, I shouldn't say I hate it, I just think it's a very poor representation of country music. There's no real Rhythm to it, it's way too political. It's just not what country music is about. That being said, This ain't about black or white. If you feel personally offended by this song, then odds are you feel like you have the right to tear s*** up. And at it from a racist angle even though the majority of riders are antifa which are upper middle class white kids. But aside from that, if you're an African-American person, and you look at this and become offended it is one because you feel like you have a right to Riot and tear s*** up and two you must think you have that right because of the color of your skin. ‌ ‌It really is crazy how mainstream media and the left the majority of the left not only cosine this type of behavior from our black communities, but they actually encourage it. You hear Democrats threaten people with this type of violence. And I've always felt like this was a dance for me situation. I am happy to hear the older man talk about how this is not about race. He understands, and I think the other man does to, that this is about destruction of property. This is about disrespecting a lot of hard work that a lot of people put in to make something of themselves. And that goes for blacks and whites alike, there are a lot of black business owners in these big cities that lose everything because it is garbage. ‌ ‌I just wish that the left and mainstream media wouldn't encourage this type of behavior from the black community. They realize that the majority of these riots happen in Black areas' lot of black owned businesses like I mentioned before, but they don't care about that they care about the ratings they're going to get on the 6:00 news and how they're going to amp up young people to go vote as if they actually intend to do something about what people think was the reason all this happened in the first place. ‌ ‌Here in the South, it is so much different than in big cities. I don't expect a young man that's been raised in the city to understand this song. See in the south it's such a vast expanse of area that police are not able to get to a call majority, average time, 20 to 30 minutes before a police officer will arrive at a lot of these properties. Because one they're usually a sheriff's office and two they probably got 20 people working there, so that means there's probably five on call at the moment. People in the South are just used to handling their business themselves. If we see someone beating up someone else, we don't turn our head and just ignore it, we handle it ourselves. ‌ ‌This goes a lot deeper, but I'm just going to leave it at that. I feel like the young man has so many external pressures about stuff like this that is soon as someone told him about it, he immediately considered it to be racist. Whereas the older black gentleman has been around the block a few times, just like he said, I didn't expect it to be what it is. Get a little bit of age in your beard, and you will start to see people will change when it comes to destruction of property in things of that nature. When you work really hard for something and then somebody comes along and destroys it and there's no way that you're going to be able to get that back, it really changes your outlook on the world.

Facts, thank you. There are plenty of caucasians in this video, look into the crowds of people. Jason wasn’t cherry picking, he was talking to all criminals and wanna be’s. And, a reminder that small towns also include people of color that are prepared and will unite against said criminals to protect their families, property, neighbors, churches, etc. Unlike what is happening in some major cities in this country where these criminals are wreaking havoc with no consequences under this administration. Son needs to wake up or he might just end up involved in a messy situation that his friends convinced him was a good idea. He needs to do some research and educate himself. I have faith that he will open his eyes and ears to the message of this song. The song is not about him or black people unless he/or they are engaging in criminal behavior. It’s all people, no matter the color. Equal Opportunity” consequences when you bring trouble to our small towns. This song was a hit not because it was racist, it was hit because people are tired of this b.s in our country and support the message.

Did you listen to the lyrics? “Sucker punch somebody on the sidewalk, car-jack an old lady at a red light, pull a gun on the owner of a liquor store.. “ He’s clearly talking about criminals, not black people. Did you look at the video? Almost every person doing something criminal had white skin, from the hand holding the Molotov cocktail in the beginning, all the way through, and even the skinny white dude that got clocked by the big dude with a jug of milk in his hand. If you want to see racism, you will see it everywhere you look, whether it’s there or not, but this one is a big stretch. I understand that you already had your mind made up before you even heard or saw it, and that is a poor move always. Better to learn how to think for yourself rather than listen to the hate-baiters. Some context: sadly there was one lynching at that particular court house a hundred years ago, but it is highly doubtful that was even known by Jason, as it is not an uncommon site for filming, and also close to his home. His message was simple: if you try that big-city violence and crime here-we all know one another (black, white and brown) and we gonna defend and take care of each other. I wish you peace, and I hope you can open your mind to more than hating and promoting hate. ✌️

Your father is on the right track with this one. He is referring to anyone (of any race) coming to a small town. His advice is that if you have plans to act out and start crap and such in a small town just be prepared to be dealt with appropriately. Everybody in small towns tend to be a close knit community and “we take care of our own” in as far as looking out for those we know and love. The message never once targets a specific group of people. The media has hyped this song to be something it’s not. Whoopi Goldberg is now in serious danger of losing her job on The View because of the way her and her co-hosts blasted Aldean as racist without even bothering to watch the video. All they did was go off what they were told. Yes, he is from Macon, Georgia. That is a bigger town than my hometown (Albany, Georgia). The courthouse in the video was indeed the site of (to my understanding) one lynching in the 1920’s. Let’s be honest here… at that time do you really think that was an isolated incident? Not excusing it at all but it wasn’t uncommon back then. The courthouse is located in Columbia, Tennessee.

no but seriously…. i’ve lived in a small town in north georgia my entire life and it doesn’t matter what you look like….. we see shit going down, it’s gonna be handled. you just don’t disrespect your OWN community and the people in it like that. any time anything has happened where i live…. it’s just. handled. on the other hand- i lived in atlanta for about 4 years after college and the stuff i saw…. unheard of. that girl who got thrown from the lambo in buckhead. she was my friend. i moved back home immediately after that from being scared to even sleep in my apartment. it has nothing to do with race. people need to just open their eyes.

You know what I’ve decided? Anyone that calls me a racist when I am NOT, I will call them a niqqer. If non black people are not allowed to use that word when blacks are, then blacks should not be allowed to use the word racist. I’m so SICK of it. Let me tell you, a new young black clerk in a store I shop at, openly stated I was trying to steal. This was when I was checking out. I found the manager and was telling her what happened. The clerk then proceeded to call me racist over and over. Man, I went off on her like July 4th fireworks. And I said it loud enough for everyone in the store to hear me. This happened just yesterday. The word racist to a white person is as offensive as the N word is to blacks. I’m 73 years old and nobody is going to do that to me again!! And as I said in the store, I have enough money, I don’t need to steal. Josh’s dad needs to knock some sense into him. Or someone else might. Josh is just a low low class punk arse kid.

Dad is a smart man. The song was about people in general "race had nothing to do with the song" doing criminal acts. In the video, it showed lots of different races doing the criminal acts and not once was it pointed out or towards a specific race. He was saying, " If you try those criminal acts in a small town, you won't get far. " I'm ex-military and live in a small town as well and if anyone tried those criminal acts as in the video, they would not like the out come either. My wife pointed this video out to me, as she is a beautiful black woman, which she told me I had to see this, because, yet another younger person misunderstood the meaning of the song and video. Either way, good video and Dad, great view and understanding man. Stay strong, stay happy and enjoy.

As a Mayor of a very small town in Illinois that just experienced a tornado, this song isn't about race. It's about how folks come together when things get rough. You are both welcome in my town anytime! Only reason you would think this song is about race is based on the stereotypes that the media and Hollywood has made out of certain communities. And the fact that you formed your own opinion before even hearing the song says that you believe what you hear before researching things on your own. Dad even mentions "my people" and I'm sorry to say in my eyes there are only people. And yes I am a white male, but I would never consider all white people my people. My people are the people I surround myself with and that's white, black, Hispanic, and any other race world wide. America has come a long way, and still a long way to go, so not until people realize we are all in this together the divide will continue and grow. We currently have a government with help from the media that is only throwing gasoline on that flame. I wish you both the best and hope you do know not all white people are racist. History has taught us that the easiest people to control are the most vulnerable. The strong prey on the weak. The Romans, Egyptians, Chinese, Native Americans, you name it. At one time or another pretty much every country in the world has been built on the blood and sweat of others through force and manipulation of their own people. Good luck with your channel but I recommend you keep an open mind before calling something out as something it might not possibly be, otherwise I don't think your channel will be around very long.

No they think it's about race because of the blm clips they used. If they wanted to convey a different message then they should've been more straightforward or used different footage. They're being racist and you're all just trying to cover it up like they intended

That is an excuse for ignorance, ignorant people. Illinois is not the same as the highly racist states down south. Mr. Mayor (kind of doubt but ok), I grew up in a small town. Racine, Wis. which as you would know is very close to the Illinois border. 7min South of Racine is another small town. Kenosha. Allow me to correct you. The reason why some think it's about race is because THERE IS A RACIAL ISSUE in America. What ends up happening is that because it occurs so much it tends to feel like it's all the time. If you listen closely to what I said, I initially thought it was racial until I listened and didn't necessarily see it the same but I CAN see how MANY could, though I didn't fully agree. Now, in Kenosha,Wis you would remember that Kyle Rittenhouse, a white male, (who is now referred to as an 'Unrest VICTIM'), He shot 3 people and killed 2 at the age of 17 after having his mom drive him to Kenosha though he lived in Antioch, Illinois, while armed with an AR-15! He came because Jacob Blake, a black man, was shot 7 times by officers. Wis. Governor Tony Evers said...""While we do not have all of the details yet, what we know for certain is that he is not the first black man or person to have been shot or injured or mercilessly killed at the hands of individuals in law enforcement in our state or our country." Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes said the shooting was not an accident, and "This wasn't bad police work. This felt like some sort of vendetta taken out on a member of our community." On the anniversary of the shooting Barnes released a statement condemning how "systemic racism continues to ravage communities of color". Right Wing media turned KR into a hero. Matt Gaetz offered KR an internship 2 days before the verdict in his case came back and of course he was found 'not guilty' on ALL charges. He met with Trump (who went to Kenosha but didn't meet with Blake) and went on a publicity tour and even had 2 video games created to fund his so-called defense. I'm not sure what city you are the mayor of and would love to know but I used 'my people' in a general sense because when Law Enforcement shows up they don't care what I identify with they see me and 'my people' the same. I hope you had much to say concerning this case in your state. History does indeed show that the so-called strong prey on the weak but THAT is the problem. Maybe if the so-called strong helped instead of preying we all might get to a better place.

I live 1 hour from a city. During the riots about a hundred broke off and came to my small town. They were met with police on the top steps of the courthouse and civilians at the bottom steps of the courthouse protecting the courthouse and the cops. There were civilians position all over the downtown area with long guns. The rioters assess the situation about 30 minutes and left. When all was said and done everyone shook hands and the police ask no questions as to where all those ar's came from. We took care of our own. I live in a mixed town and there were mixed civilians downtown. So there is your answer

When they were bussing the rioters to other towns, my small town got word that we were on their list. We then found large piles of bricks around our town. Our citizens of all races lined the streets prepared for them and when the bus did show up, it slowed down and when they saw we were prepared they didn't stop. We also take care of our own.
