My #1 rule: if they're hostile on the phone, return the food to the restaurant and report it to your delivery service. They'll cancel the order for you (won't affect your stats) and you may get a couple bucks as compensation. My saying is this: Rude means no food. Or, pass on the ass.
@smiller93082 жыл бұрын
That's common scam. They call you and tell you to deliver to a different address and then say the order was never delivered.

@@itsmehi90 They often like to just deliver to one of my neighbors and then I never see it cause my neighbors keep it. FedEX is probably the worst. Has a package with UPS that required a signature, they let some random person sign off on it and never saw that one again, I have no clue what the point of a signature even is if they just let anyone sign and take it. I really only trust USPS with my packages.

Btw, most of the time that the restaurants are running late with the order, it’s not their fault. DoorDash tends to send the dashers too early, we’ve had dashers sent 10 mins til it was ready, and they’ve gotten pissed so we would get calls from support, hate those calls

Yeah my Wal-Mart was awful for a long time and I ALWAYS declined their orders no matter how much they were. I had like 4 bad experiences in a row a year ago. Recently I gave it a shot again and Wal-Mart had hired multiple people to only handle online orders. Orders have been quick, they come right out and load them in my trunk. In and out no problem, even at busiest times. Tips are so much higher on grocery orders so now I find myself desperate for more Wal-Mart orders! They stepped their game up in my area. Worker told me they now average 6000 orders per weekend in just the island location.

hey man, new dasher here. just wanted to say thanks for mentioning that bit about the address. i just had a customer yesterday try to change his address on me mid-dash as well (he panicked bcs he had scheduled a delivery time and he thought i would get there too early so he wanted me to go to his current location. which i couldnt do because this dash was actually a double and i ended up waiting 15 mins for the 2nd customers food) i met him at the location he put in the app (and yes it was at his scheduled delivery time slot) but he still left a 1 star and said it was because didnt follow instructions. it makes me really frustrated because the guy got his food, at his scheduled delivery time, at his scheduled location and then he did that to me. is there anything i can do about that? i screenshot all the text messages just in case DD ever asks me what happened

Yes in hindsight I thought about how I could have parked, called support. However it was a stacked order that was already behind, I was nowhere near the restaurant, the customer was rude, and I was having lots of internet connection issues at a time when app logistics were constantly being updated. It was just a decision made in the moment that I stuck with.

I noticed that you didn't use a thermal bag even once on your deliveries. I don't understand why dashers find this acceptable. You even check that box before you dash. Have a small heat bag and invest in a catering bag to carry the larger bags like McDonalds, Cracker Barrel and any other large orders that you may have. Try to hustle a little more. Im sure that your customer was angry because you were extremely late delivering their food. I mean you took a "lunch break" and walked on the beach during the lunch rush. Who does that? You seem like a nice guy but you clearly don't understand what it takes to be a competent food courier and even worse, you are teaching others how to slack too. I hope you can improve your service.

Did I see a $6 order for 8.2 miles? What are you doing? Showing us what not to do?
@william_mac2 жыл бұрын
Okay I see that you made $136 Austin. That's a pretty good day. But then you take the gas off of that. And a prefigured amount for car maintenance, insurance and let's not forget your car payment. And then of course your income is taxable depending on your situation. Maybe you're buying a house or rent an apartment let's say for $1,000. Oh but then you have to eat! Maybe you have kids or not or child support payments. Maybe you have student loans. Or perhaps you have other debts to deal with. 136x30=4,080 per month. And that's working every single day of the year. That's not bad if you want to work everyday. Minus all the expenses I really can't imagine it works. From what I understand you have to have extra auto insurance to be a driver and legal. I used to deliver papers with my little Honda until I started seeing my tire treads running out and they weren't paying me enough to buy new tires. Granted it's a cool job and mostly it would be fun to do. However at the price of cars and gas today it really just doesn't work out if you do the numbers. Good luck to you though Austin!
