I cried when I saw your emotional VS post. You have every right to be proud of yourself and all you do. Your body as amazing!! Anyone that exercises will know how hard you’ve worked to get that muscle tone! I am 63 and wish I had appreciated my body when I was younger and not criticized myself all the time as not good enough. Now I love my middle aged body, post menopausal tummy and all! Victoria, I enjoy watching your contents; I find you to be very pro and dedicated in your job. You make a great team with Alex and it's also nice to see a variety of contents in your videos: fashion, beauty, travels but also your time at home or with friends or family. It’s even worse when a family member(s) comment on your body. My step dad and mom told me I was fat and poked at my love handles. Then when I started going to the gym and I stopped eating food only junk food and energy drink they claimed that I was getting too skinny. To this day that still triggers me. Out of all the influencers that I have come across, you are BY FAR my favorite. As a proud Victorian, I appreciate how vocal you are on topics that involve eating disorders or anything regarding bringing other people down. About the ED topic... I agree with you, it's ironic that people want to be against beauty standards because they can be harmful, but they are acting... harmful themselves. They are preaching about embracing our bodies, but they are labeling others bodies. And surprise, surprise... sometimes PEOPLE ARE THIN (and even sad about that).

Yesterday I spent the afternoon at Refuge in Carmel Valley. Hydrotherapy. Salt wall sauna followed by cold plunge then over to the antogravity chairs in the meditation room for an increfible endorphin rush which is so healing. Relax there for 20 minutes then pop into one of the hot pools for a soak then rest on a hammock or in a chair by a fire pit. All outdoors. Do 3 rounds of this for maximum benefit. Alternate sauna with steam room. So beautiful and rejuvenating. I must do it more often!

I agree with you, Victoria, and you know what an interesting perspective... when you have an eating disorder, sometimes you need people to call it out (not in a disrespectful way like you described here!). It can be so hard sometimes to believe you have an eating disorder or to believe that it's "bad enough" to get help, so sometimes the hard-to-hear things are what people need. So many times my clients (I'm an ed therapist) will say to me, no one says anything, I must be fine, or I get so many compliments for being thin, and sometimes they are just dying for someone to notice that they aren't ok. And for myself, in my own recovery process, I remember hearing people on the beach comment that I looked "disgustingly thin", and it was kinda the wake-up call I needed. Now all of that said, tagging someone publicly and assuming someone is ill are clearly inappropriate and stigmatizing. You can't see an ED just by looking at someone's body. AND I SO appreciate your trigger warnings. Thank you for being you. All my love.

Hi Vic, as a frequent viewer I just wanted to add my viewpoint. Social media has become so repulsive and unfortunately influencers like yourself aren't immune to the side effects of the culture that benefits you. Influencing in general has created a world that's so much worse off than it was before. You can personally only see the world through your eyes but on the other side of it, the things that young people are doing to become like the people they see online, who are edited and airbrushed to within an inch of their life: and because you're your own product, you spend endlessly to look a certain way that is quite frankly not attainable for the average person. All while attempting to seem relatable. Let's be real, influencers may not outright say hey if you buy this product you can look like me, but that's exactly what the endless promotions are subliminally indicating when we all know it'll never happen. You guys create a culture where enough is never enough. Then people go online with their hate and frustrations and bully someone into depression and the influencer world is like yea we're people too, your words affect us. But do you guys EVER stop to think about the world that you've created through not just simply influencing but this relentless need for more. On the other side of your life are people who are constantly feeling like they can never have enough, or will never look right. Don't get me wrong, this isn't directed at you and this is in no way to excuse bullying of ANY kind. But while you guys mourn for the well known singer who was bullied beyond imagination, no one pays attention to the mothers losing their young daughters or sons because of the pressure they feel as a result of this awful community that feeds your lifestyle. People can easily say don't watch or don't subscribe, but the world could just as easily say don't read the comments. And you guys just keep going. No one talks about viewing with mindfulness or the importance of perspective. It's just sell sell sell, for companies whose sole purpose is to make more and more. Read the studies about what this community, this culture is doing to the world at large, and hopefully next time we'll be having a different conversation that doesn't revolve around making a world, that's already so comfortable for the influencer community, even more comfortable. Again, hate and bullying have NO place in the point I'm making. But you guys have SOOOOOO much, but added to all the comforts that the lifestyle provides you want the online world to be all unicorns and rainbows. Perspective is everything.

The Spider thing. My son has a fear of spiders , I don’t, I respect pretty much all insects, anyway.. So I like you had a resident bedroom spider I named Nigel, I think it helped my son feel empathy and that it was my friend and I was protective over it . I didn’t like earwigs greatly until I saw a documentary about how protective they are over their young, it was so wonderful it touched my heart.

As someone who owned a neverfull upon its first appearance, it did not used to be reversible until recently. As someone who suffered from an ED for over a decade, I still get messages from followers claiming I’m still having said ED. Just because I’m not overweight but still lean and reasonably skinny, it equals for many as an ED. It’s so heartbreaking that 8 years after my ED people call me out on still having one just because I’m not morbidly overweight.

I didn’t - VS shows always made me feel inadequate and were totally about the male gaze IMO (I know they’re trying to change this for current times) but as a person who hated myself and my body image, it was totally triggering to me.

It’s one of the reasons I ‘hate’ the internet - people seem to say the most nasty, cruel things - that often they would never feel brave enough to actually say that to someones face - I find myself scrolling less and less nowdays as it’s not a great place for lots of people - I’m happier in my own bubble with great friends ❤
