Don't know how anyone has the patience to do car boot. The wife and her sister do them, I've been to a couple and it might be because I live in Bradford but you get folk haggling over 50p 😂😂😂. I couldn't be arsed with the hassle, I'd end up throttling someone.

They can be animals at car boot sales, I have been knocked over, had things grabbed out of my hands, spat on, sworn at and generally abused. I am 77 years old. I have also had my own car boot stall. You have to have eyes in the back of your head as people steal your merchandise and try and rip you off.

Watching from the States. This is popular here. I watch several people here who sell on Ebay. They will compare prices on Ebay to see what items are selling for. You should come over when they have the longest yard sale. It's 690 miles long and goes through 6 States. I lived in a residential area that has a yard sale every year. It's about four blocks square and every house puts out the stuff they want to sell. One guy had a brilliant idea. He set up his grill and sold hot dogs,water and pop. Good hunting.

Interesting dilemma I came across..... So buyer asks how much? Seller responds & buyer spends ages pondering (hoping the seller will drop price or negotiate?) .....another buyer overhears the asking price & says 'I'll take it for that (asking price)'. For the seller Option 1 - straight sell to 2nd buyer for full asking price? Option 2 - carry on negotiating with 1st buyer again to take it for asking price (thus risking a no-quibble sale to money-ready 2nd buyer)? In this scenario, I was the 2nd buyer & the item was sold to me...... but the 1st buyer was really NOT happy. My thought was, you snooze, you lose 😊

Decent car boot sales are few & far between them now & certainly where i live i would have to travel over 15 + miles to my nearest one & being disabled makes it rather difficult / impossible without transport to take me my partner & our two mobility scooters ( neither colapsable ) & to hire a suitable vehicle would be extremely exspensive. So, we simply just don't go anymore.
