I am repeating myself again and again: I simply LOVE Dieuwke, 💞she is incredible sweet when she is very patiently, very carefully, very slowly and very friendly trying to become friends with Wûnder. So adorable when she is licking him and following his way on the other side of the planks. Even Saly seems to have become used to her (as long as Dieuwke doesn’t come too close and Dieuwke has learned her lessons) and has accepted that there is a follower. Also, Wûnder seemed to be searching where she is when he was looking through the cut-off of the box. So cute ❤️

Got tickled at Bjarni nudging Spidey away from HIS carrot toy! Leads me to suspect that he's teaching Spidey some herd rules. 😂🤣 Mathilde and Yvonne that was great idea to give them their own little paddock. Is is nice to warch. I was surprised by seeing Wunder use both teats from the same side. My princess of a filly always walked around her mom and changed sides to switch teats. I just thought that was the way it was done. Wunder is much cleverer that my arrogant little filly. And me.

Your comment reminds me of a video i saw about a herd of semi wild horses in Africa in a protected park for endangered species. There was a drama when one mare’sfoal died. She agressively stole another mare’s foal as soon as she saw it. She believed it was her lost foal!! The two mothers fought over the foal.until the game keepers intervened and separated the bereaved mare from the herd for a time. She was cared for in a stable until she recovered. if i recall correctly. this. behavior happens in wild herds. 💔

I am so proud of Dieuwke! Such a good girl in the way she approached Wunder, and I'm relieved Saly didn't mind even when the kisses began! Lol Wunder was acting like he didn't like it but he kept dipping his nose down to her xD Dog kisses are like that, straight into the mouth and nostrils lol. This is the most protective I've ever seen Saly. I suppose it doesn't help that Uniek's being a little too pushy into their space cuz she likes the foal lol. My beautiful border collie would come up to the barn with me the morning after a foal had been born. He would smell each mare's stall door and show excitement when he discovered the scent of the new one. He gently insisted on meeting each new foal, lick their face and mark them as the newest member of our family. He would not leave the barn until that was accomplished. If he had to wait out a protective mare for hours, he would wine softly and I would have to comfort him as I worked until the new mother finally allowed him to welcome the little one. I enjoyed watching this video so much. It brought back some very sweet memories for me.❤

I liked both names for Wunder. He is a beautiful boy! It suits him since your accident almost prevented your stal from happening. That must have been an emotional decision, agreeing on his name. You and Bauke are a strong couple to be able to agree to it together. Bjarni’s nicker to Daisy was so sweet. It looked like Spidey was introducing them. The stal is so full of life and joy. I am still finding it to be exciting. I know in such good hands it will be as successful as it possibly can be. Thank you, Yvonne, for including insights into the horse’s behaviors.
