Daisy in foal to Johnny? The day before my accident I had Daisy and Glendy covered by Johnny. I didn't have them checked afterwards to see if they were pregnant. Simply because I had other concerns... Now Daisy is getting very fat... A pregnancy belly? What do you think?
I'm riding Ginny! It feels so good that I can do this again!

Same as a mom myself I do not mind the sounds of children. Mine are teens and they aren't as noisy anymore they are up in their rooms doing their thing. One greets me with a smile when I intrude into their space I get the eye roll and nose wrinkle from the other one lol. I am keeping my fingers crossed that their is a bun in Daisy's oven.

I have noticed that Daisy was getting a bit on the rounder side these past couple of months. Looks like Her and Johnny's "date" produced something. Its gonna be wonderful to see a Johnny foal. I also wanted to state how proud I am of you and your recovery. Years ago, when I joined, I asked you to say the names of all the horses due to being English speaker (you never did that before) and butchering the names in my brain. You have named all the horses since then and has become quite the habit that is appreciated by all of us who only speak English. I feel that the habit of naming the horses all the time has helped in your recovery!! Bravo you wonderful woman, Bravo!!

It’s wonderful because I’m reminded of how much fun, and work when they are older, they will have there with the horses and all. Driving a front loader/digger etc. I get weepy when I am reminded that they almost lost her. Bauke almost lost her but here they are the little family all together on an adventure.

Daisy does look pregnant especially from the back, it almost looked like a foal moving.. I hadn’t noticed before now, with all the excitement of bringing the Friesian mares home to Stal H. Oh My Goodness! Can it really be? I missed the part where Johnny came to visit !! Well, I always thought Glendy looked pregnant, such a nice round belly, but then I thought it could not be possible because there was no stallion around, and Spidey is still too young,, right? I remember back, Yvonne once said that Johnny does get to have a “date” with a pony now and then.. She used the word “cover a pony” I think. And just now Yvonne said that if Daisy IS pregnant it will be from Johnny!! Oh Johnny is so beautiful, his foal will have his beauty. If Daisy has his colt, it can grow up to be a teaser stallion like Johhny. Yvoone, you are so professional!! Were you thinking ahead to raise another Johnny for Stal G and Stal H?

We have been screaming that we think Daisy is “in foal!” (I so very much wish Glendy could have a sweet little one for herself.) Bauke quickly turned Teije’s tears to laughs! We all are happy that you are able to still ride; you are such a beautiful rider. I see Dieuwke and I think of Senna; every stable needs beloved dogs. (And cats!)

Daisy definitely is much heavier than her usual. She is carrying very low. It will be so interesting to see a Johnny foal. Spidey will miss his mum. Glenda is such a good auntie. Tiered was so precious about his front loader. Dad was especially sweet in meeting his sons needs and hearts desire. So sweet. Great to see you training again Yvonne. Love seeing you excel. I'll add my voice to the many others who are quite happy hearing Rein & Tieje in the background just being little boys playing in the Stable. Any mom or dad knows that you have to keep a close eye on children their ages. I really do enjoy catching a glimpse of their play every now and then. Poor Tieje!! 🙁 Danged 🌧 Rain!! I swear!! That child sure does love a 🚜 tractor! I don't think that Bauke will ever have any trouble getting Tieje to do his chores, so long as there is a piece of heavy machinery is involved. 😉 I've been hoping that some little Johnnys would be born this season. I've had my fingers 🤞crossed that BOTH Daisy & Glendy would give us Foals this year. Still hoping. All of the horses seem very happy with the Horjus family and their new Stalls. They've settled in nicely, haven't they?

Its a shame that Glendy didn't get pregnant too. It's the second time again that only Daisy seems to foaly surprise us lol. If it's happens, hoping for a nice deliver and healthy mom and foal. I also though that Reintje was on foal too.

I know she left stal G and doesn't get mentioned much anymore, but I think Myrthe (owner of Waloubet) deserves some credit for how well she started and trained the young mares under saddle. Being all well behaved with their different riders, she did her job well. I also remember Myrthe participating in the Friesian Talent cup with Ginny in 2021, it's nice and a bit safer for Yvonne to ride a more experienced horse.

Looking at Daisy's possibly pregnant belly brought home to me how very quickly Yvonne's recuperation is going. It's been less time than it takes to grow a foal, or even to be quite sure if there is a foal growing in Daisy; and just see how much Yvonne is already doing, how very far she has improved. 2:30 - I can so relate to Teija and his love for the front-end loader. Many years ago (50+), when I was about his age, I can still remember the thrill of sitting in the cab of a large industrial sized Loader and being in awe of all in front of me. What a barnful of horses and ponies it will be this summer! From none to possibly 9 in such a short time! 🎉🎉🎉 My children have been grown and gone for 7 years. I thoroughly enjoy hearing children playing and I miss it.

@@rayehodge5711 I agree. We were an airline family. Our two boys grew up so very very fast. All the time we invested in our children was so worth while. My boys are still very close to me. I just love watching Yvonne with her two children, as well as Spidey and Rising Star. I am guessing when the time is right, Rising Star will move over to Stall H. It is a most beautiful stable but I find it so enjoyable that Yvonne still goes over to Stall G. Its lovely to see all these horses so well cared for.

I remember when Kiki, took over the scarecrow. She guarded it and growled and showed teeth whenever any one ,dog or human came close. it was during the time when Spidey was little and Dieuke played and played with him. Kiki was too small and short to join in and keep up, so she found her own “playmate” with long wooden legs. At least that is how it seemed to me. We had a little black dog named KIKI when our children were little. My toddler son thought it was a kitten, and called it a “key key” That is how our Kiki got her name. It brings back happy memories to see your Kiki and hear the name again

Bauke has to be the best Papa to his boys. He is concerned and tries so much to cheer them up and educate them also that things do not always go the way that we would like them too. Love your boys, they have such tender hearts💝💝💝💝

I have long thought that Daisy was in foal. I hope so. How exciting to have a baby with Johnny. Also, I wonder about Spidey being a teaser stallion for Stal H. He certainly has the attitude! How fun it is to watch the formation of a new Stable. It seems like yesterday when you were fixing the walls in your new home. Your family has come so far in such a short time. It sure looks like Ms Daisy is expecting her tummy looks too big to be anything else according to my "expert" opinion. I'd say Diewke enjoys having the big girls around the way she was sitting next to their stalls. Your boys are so full of life it's a joy to hear them having fun playing. The big girls were acting like "okay we'll go to the arena if we have to" then Yvonne closed the gate one them turned around as if she was thinking "wait! You're closing the gate?!"

The walk, from Barn, to Arena, contains too many interesting sights.... Ships, ponies, GRASS..... Cars, everything is closer at Stal Horjus! So they just meander along... Taking it all in! Lisa 🇦🇺🐨

I've thought for a while now Daisy might have a little Johnny in the oven. When I first noticed, I thought she might be bigger than Glendy around the middle because she'd had a foal more recently than Glendy. But, she's just kept getting bigger and bigger! If Daisy is pregnant, I hope it all goes well - Johnny might only be a Dartmoor pony rather than a Friesian stallion but he's still a LOT bigger than a Shetland and any foal Daisy has to him is likely to be bigger than any she may have given birth to before. Sorry - you know a lot more about this sort of thing than I do, I just worry about stuff. I do feel bad that Glendy isn't pregnant too though - not only do I think it'd be nice for her to have a little one of her own to look after, two foals can keep each other entertained. I don't know what Spidey would've done if he hadn't had Dieuwke to 'roughhouse' with all this time 😆

Not to worry. Since embryos derive their nourishment from the dam's body, it is very rare for a foal to be too large for a mare to safely deliver. Dystocia in mares is much more often caused by an abnormal presentation--the foal has one leg curled back or is presenting breech--or hormonal problem, where the contractions slow down or cease. Very, very rarely, a mare has a pelvic opening that is too narrow to deliver properly but this happens so rarely and usually has nothing at all with the bloodlines of the foal--it's due to poor conformation in the mare. Back in the 1920s and 1930s, when artificial insemination was a cutting edge technology, researchers did experiments like inseminating Shetland mares with semen from Shire stallions. Those mares delivered Shetland pony-sized foals that, once born, grew incredibly fast--but they started out Shetland pony sized. Somewhere, in one of my books, there is a photo of a 4 month old Shire x Shetland foal nursing from the Shetland dam by kneeling in order to get down to the level where they could reach her teats. The foal was literally taller than the mare at 4 months but a baby is a baby!

@@suzannet3806 You are welcome! Human beings are much more prone to dystocia than equids are because of our upright position (changing the pelvic conformation) and our comparatively huge heads. That's why human infants are born at what would be an incredibly premature stage of development in a horse. Mares, on the other hand, are much less prone to dystocia and on those rare occasions when it happens, it is usually due to a problem with the foal's position rather than the size of the foal.

Awe, Yvonne, little Teije is such a sweetheart. He was crushed he couldn't ride on the loader!! But having the best Dad in the world, they went and looked at it anyways!!
