Here is a very aggressive Mockingbird. This bird along with others build several nest in my bushes and will attack anybody or anything that gets near them.

Good job capturing them in flight - they are fascinating birds if not somewhat aggressive during nesting season. I like having them around my yard, especially when they sing to attract mates.

Overly manufactured neighborhoods hate large trees. That's the problem. Grow more large trees and the birds won't fight so hard for the last remnants of habitat they have left.

They WILL NOT hurt a human. They are not attacking. They are trying to scare off what they perceive to be a predator. All the bird does is fly close to..or sometimes his/ her body will actually touch you. But they DO NOT peck, bite, nor attack. I have had multiple birds do this to me. It is quite an amazing thing to experience... I too start laughing...I think the laughter for me comes from the amazement that I am the focus of their attention... I think it is COOL as hell.............

Interesting observation. Would you not be concerned if they hit you in the face, for example? I realize there are fearless humans, but in theory they could blind you in one eye, very quickly.
@pigeonhawk4832

Oh yes they will strike one on the head, I've seen them do it to cats, hawks, squirrels, dogs and crows, and seem very unafraid of people as well. They do try to aim for the eyes. It's really not that cool or funny especially if you enjoy relaxing out in your yard, or your cat or dog just wants his own space outside.

If they become too much of a annoyance and nuesance, to the point one cannot enjoy their own yard or walk out their front or back door, without being dive-bombed by these birds, perhaps just remove the nest and it's contents, give it to the neighborhood crows , rats, racoons and stray/feral cats.

Thats amazing, I've always admired Mockingbird Birds. They're extremely intelligent, as are most birds, and they Protect their Nests. When I was a kid, in the 70s, I mowed a particular womans lawn, she had a hedge similar to yours but smaller. I told my cousin, who helped me, that these birds were attacking me. He said they were Mockingbird birds, so I shut the mower off when moving to front to back yard and they left me alone, thanks for sharing, ✌

I'm not sure they are very intelligent, come on, attacking cats, that can and will kill them, or boldly attacking people that far out weigh them, and could easily kill one with a swat from a tennis racquet. Or attacking large dogs that could kill one with a snap of it's jaws if it got annoyed enough. I would say they are very bold and courageous. Intelligent animals don't attack creatures that have far superior weight and strength.

I have two (male and female) in my pomegranate tree. I kept seeing them fly around squawking and chirping, back and forth from fence to tree, to another tree, back to fence... it seemed like they were distressed. Then the gardener pointed to a fledgling on the ground. I put gloves on and scooped it onto a dustpan and then ran all the way around my huge fence and placed it gently in the shade. The birds immediately stopped squawking. The baby is back in the tree, and the parents are always on guard, but they never attack me.

We've got a Mockingbird in our backyard who "starts" singing around 1:00 a.m. & sings constantly until about 5:00 a.m. He/she is so loud! It sounds like it's crazy too! It constantly changes up the songs, cycling thru every bird call it can come up with, including a Red Tailed Hawk cry! They're definitely aggressive when it comes to their babies!
