Hi! Thanks for your informative videos! Just a question if you can help me: what in your opinion would be better considering the sharpness of the images: buying a 18-55mmm and a 55-200mm or just a 18-135mm? The last one would be great in terms of simplicity, but what do you think based on your experience working with them? I am planning to buy a X-T2 during a trip I am going to do and I could not decide yet what is better: buying it with the 18-55mm or just the machine and sepparatelly the lens of 18-135mm. Thanks in advance!!!

the 23mm 2 is the walk around, but the 16mm is by far my pick for walk around, with 24mm FOV equiv…..also you can shoot FING close with the 16mm……the 16mm is just the tits , fujis best lens.

Instead of the 18-55, did You considder 16-55 F2.8 ?
@KenTheoriaApophasis9 жыл бұрын
+Kenneth Rosenstroem i used it and considered it for less than a second, its not much faster, MUCH more expensive, and the 18 55 actually performs better
@KennethRosenstroem9 жыл бұрын
+Theoria Apophasis OK, I just read everywhere, it's sharper corner to corner, but maybe that's just not true, aka prime like. I have the 18-135, and was thinking of getting 16-55 + 55-200 for a bit more reach, and since I have the primes from 16-56, I was thinking of the 16-55 as a walk around lens. Don't realy need the OIS. SO in other words, You think the 18-55 outperforms the 16-55 right, even if we forget the OIS?
@KenTheoriaApophasis9 жыл бұрын
instead of the 16-55 you can replace that with 2 great lenses, even forgetting the OIS, yes. is this statement slightly subjective on the 16-55? Yes, however as to its empirical attributes , its not a good value lens. better a 18 55 and a NICE Fuji prime for the same cost = much happier.
@KennethRosenstroem9 жыл бұрын
+Theoria Apophasis Thanks Ken, I have the primes, was thinking of selling the 18-135, I am not happy with the tight zoom travel at the long end. Anyways, something to think about :) Decissions decissions he he

I love these lenses and the XT-10 and my only issue with Fuji is that they have the flimsiest lens caps out of all the manufacturers. They easily come loose. So I replace them with the Sensei screw on metal lens caps. They are fantastic and sell for less than ten dollars each.

Noob question: if I want a fuji tele lens for low light, what do I pick, and how important is image stabilization in low light? 90mm prime f2 vs 50-140mm zoom f2.8 with image stabilization, what to pick?
@KenTheoriaApophasis8 жыл бұрын
+Kristoffer Trolle VC is important in low light yes. however better holding technique is just as important. 50-140 2.8 is not a lens needed by most people, but most people lust after it for obvious reasons. what? underexpose by as much as 3 stops to nail the focus with high enough shutter and raise in post.

aside from it's two biggest drawbacks (plastic body and slower speed) I wonder what you think of the XC 50-230 lens. I had the 55-200 and sold it... probably shouldn't have - but spent that money on other lenses (Samyang 12, Fuji 16, 18-135, 35/2, 56, 27 (thinking of selling - just don't use it)... and then, to save money but have length beyond 135 - the 50-230. I found it very good and the 30 extra mm was a nice addition to 50-200. At a whopping $160 on Amazon used I think it's Fuji's greatest "bargain" - but, you know TONS more about gear than I do... so, would you care to test/comment on it. I'ld love to know your thoughts.

Dear Mister Angry Used X-T1 with the 18 -55mm has converted me (bought to lighten the load back packing - You are seriously affecting my bank account as I ponder the 16mm F2.8 vs. The 16mm F1.4 @ more than double the cost. I'm really having a tough time with my choice but I do thank you for your video's -Fuji should be spotting you some goodies for increasing their salesLOL - Thanks - and are really angry ?

xf fugi27/f2.8 pancake versus xf fugi 23/f2 ...and why????
@KenTheoriaApophasis8 жыл бұрын
i have all the fuji lenses but the crappy 18mm……the 27mm is really sharp, but slow as piss and very very noisy…… 23mm f2 is the cats ass :)

+Theoria Apophysis Funny, but the 23mm was my favorite - only recently supplanted by the 35mm f2. I have all the lenses in this photo except the 16mm (I have the 14mm because the 16 wasn't out when I bought it). Of my lenses, I'd put the 35mm f2 at the top, followed by the 23mm, 56mm, 18-55mm, 14mm, and others. As you stated, my 50-140 would be fine for $700, but it is not $1,500 good. Also, I guess I'm the only person on the planet who really doesn't care for the 18-135mm. It's very generic and doesn't come near the level of the 18-55mm imo. Cheers.

all of that follows. wellllllll, i got the 18 135 last for a reason, i got it CHEAP, its good, not fantastic etc. true true, the 16mm is THE TITS Fujis best lens :)

Hi Kyle. IMHO, the Fujinon XF16-55 f/2.8 R WR Zoom is superior to the 1-55, IF your main concern is image quality and sharpness. (I have several Fujinon primes, and this 16-55 is very close to them in overall image quality!). The only "downsides" of the 16-55 is cost and weight, but I think the superb image quality is worth the tradeoff. YMMV. Good luck!

No 16-55 f2.8???
@drs-Rigo-Reus5 жыл бұрын
Not with Ken, but it is goooood. Better than all primes in that range. Save yourself a lot of green and get one. The 56 is a considered a slow dude now.

The 16mm has terrible comatic abberation unfortunately. Word of caution: don't buy for astrophotography. Get the Rokinon 12mm f/2 instead. Much better for astro.
