Hi there! Welcome to procademy classes. In this video you are going to learn about pipes in Angular and when do we use them. Pipes allows us to format or transform a data before displaying it in the view. Transformation can include any calculation, or data transformation or simple formatting's on string values.
In this video, i have tried to explain the concept of pipes in a very simple way and with easy to understand examples. I have covered pipes concepts with a real world example. In this video i am going to cover following topics:
1. What are pipes in Angular and when do we use them?
2. Example of some angular built-in pipes.
3. How to create and use a custom pipe in Angular.
4. Creating a custom filter pipe and understand why we should not use pipes for filter and sorting?
5. What is async pipe in angular and when we should use it.

Sir, a question came to my mind while watching the number pipe, suppose in the decimal pipe. I want to round off the decimal digits to next 10 or next 100, what can we do ?

Hello sir, I have a question. According to pipe concept, whatever we return from a pipe will be displayed on DOM, but incase of reference type, the concerned pipe won't be called if reference remains same, now when you push a new student to that students array, it does update dom without changing the reference of that array in memory which contradicts the statement "whatever a pipe returns will be display on dom". Kindly help, thanks.

In Angular 12 there are some topics like authentication & Authorization, modules, NgRX etc. Are missing. So I am going to cover those topics in this series. Also Angular 16 has few new features like signals which also I am going to cover in this series But for now I am only uploading the videos which is already covered in Angular 12 series. I will let you know when I will start uploading new topics in angular 16 series.

I have a question about custom pipe: - when we want to make more customs like: percentages, currency, and dates. - the best way to make all this in one file .pipe.ts or each type separately in a file. thank you for helping me.
