Today my guest are Brian Johnson & Angus Young from the greatest band of all time AC/DC.
I don't even know what to say about this except that it's absolutely a dream come true.
The guys sit down with me for their 1st ever podcast and talk all things AC/DC. Back In Black, Brian's audition, Angus Young's favorite Gibson SG, the Songwriting process and of course their brand new crushing record Power Up produced by the great Brendan O'Brien out Nov 13th.
This Record is going to blow your mind and yes Cliff Williams and Phil Rudd are back in the band and handling the Rhythm Guitar is Stevie Young.
I can't thank AC/DC, Kim Harris and Jay Schumer of Sony Music enough.I will never forget this day.

They aren’t the typical ‘look at me’ rockstars, they’re just all about that down to earth, good old rock n roll, pure n simple. Love the humility and good-natured spirit of these guys, but their music sure is mean, raw, and crooked as hell, just like we want it! 🎸

Yes. Brian is so humble, he can't even talk about himself. He immediately starts talking about "the boys"... Haha. Great.

I'm only 30 minutes in, but Angus has NEVER told these stories so in-depth before. So many brand-new revelations, actually shocking to me as a hardcore fan who's heard virtually every interview!! He really opened up like he never has, maybe since the podcast's long form gave him the time to. Hope they both do more podcasts, and maybe revisit this one! Such a joy to hear.

I know right? I have been a fan since I was a little girl. I always tell everyone around me there is no other female who will love AC/DC as much as me. Maybe not from South Carolina anyways. But I know there are others as well. Which is kind of cool. I’m sure there are more people in SC who love them as much as me but not near as much as me!

I love how although Angus is the spotlight, Malcolm was the dictator of the band. Angus had the strongest say in how decisions were made, but it was always Malcolm who made the final choice. If Angus pulls for you lol, then Malcolm will consider it. I think Angus truly feels Malcolm has been preparing him all his life to take up the mantle when Mal can’t. Malcolm’s been showing him how to lead the band carefully and strategically as often ad he could. No decisions were made until Malcolm weighed all the options and ideas himself. A true unsung leader. RIP Malcolm Young.

Dean, you know your Acca Dacca alright! I've been following the band since 1979 for what it's worth. For a longtime fan, your favourite album changes periodically and as of recently I also came to a conclusion that For Those About to Rock must be the best Brian-era album, so I agree with you. The production is colossal, the songs offer a lot of variety, showcase musicianship from the entire band, just an overall gem. Ang, how on Earth does one keep performing after losing a toenail??? It hurts like f**k! Hello from Croatia, and once again, probably the best interview ever!

Only five minutes of interview ive got to properly give the props to you Dean, im 40years old now and my first show was this band, on my 16th birthday day Ive watched AC/DC on a packed stadium here in Brazil on Ballbreaker tour and from that day on i was absolutely hooked on ALL the things that you mentioned: the ethic of the band, the sound, the look, the whole feel, from that day on i never look back and i took AC/DC inside my life and my heart for almost 25 years. I see them live on Black Ice tour and they were unbelievable, they were even better than before. This band never let me down, like you said they are like the Ramones to me, a people's band, they got the greatness and the apparently simplicity, because what they do is based on unrelentless work, that only the best do have. Greetings from Brazil and thankyou once more.
