Teamsters are putting Anheuser-Busch on notice: We make this company run, and we demand job protections.
If Anheuser-Busch can bring in $58 billion last year, and announce $1 billion in stock buybacks, it can damn well give hardworking Teamsters job security in writing.
Teamsters like Charles Barr work hard every day and deserve job assurances in the upcoming contract.
“We need no job or plant closures,” said Barr, a member of Teamsters Local 947 in Jacksonville, Fla.
Job security and wage increases are among the union’s key demands in negotiations with Anheuser-Busch for a contract protecting 5,000 members at 12 breweries nationwide.
Anheuser-Busch Teamsters have voted by 99 percent to authorize a strike if the company doesn’t come through on a contract worthy of its Teamster workforce.
Barr echoes thousands of Anheuser-Busch Teamsters when he says, “No contract? No beer!”
