Perhaps a late reply. I can't exactly say which year it was. But this specific performance is engraved in my memory. It must've been around 1996-1997. I remember being in high school, I can't pinpoint the exact year, but around that time. I remember being completely mesmerized by her, I even starting to idolize her for her guitar skills and voice. However, I only heard these two songs from MTV Alternative Nation ("In or Out" and "Shameless"), because I was never able to get hold of a record here in Sweden. Eventually I started to explore other music. But I remember watching this performance so many times on VHS that I lost count. Anyway, I hope this helps you pinpoint vaguely which year it was.
