Ah so I have a theory! The kids are immortal and can regenerate their limbs once one is cut off, even their heads, and they eat human flesh. They can’t eat their own so the must eat other people’s flesh, or maybe, they only eat their own flesh, and killing people is what gives them the ability to have extra lives. They pretend to be homeless to get adopted by many different people, as seen by all the missing posters. They eventually kill all of their owners and dispose of their bodies with the chemical that was shown?

To me it seems like these people may worship that bug thing, because they put body parts into a secret room with it like they were gifting the parts to it. I think they go to public places like malls and grocery stores and eateries to kidnap people, maybe pretending that they are homeless, and then they use the chloroform to knock them out, eat the good parts of them, and throw the rest to their bug thing

i think that maybe they're stuck in another dimension? since wherever they go, it seems too empty and there's never any sign of another human (maybe the spirit world?) maybe the eye clock demon-god(?) trapped them or they were possibly made into a sacrifice and the demon-god decided to keep them for unknown reasons. or maybe they were chosen to be the demon-god's avatar? either it seems that they're stuck inside a place/dimension (a neverending loop maybe?) and is forced to feed the demon-god (and themselves) human flesh and blood and it looks like the demon-god is always, always watching them with his eyes and if they break a rule or displease him, they'll just turn back to the starting point in their loop because clocks = time = loop? and the eye is an indicator of the demon-god always watching them maybe those two are stuck in another dimension and is forced to kidnap and eat other people from the living world (or the demon-god is kidnapping other people for food source) to keep on living either way they've turned into cannibals and is always being watched by the demon-god and possibly stuck in another dimension or in a time loop

I made a timeline based on some of my theories on this: 1. The monster stalks the children, recording them, taking notes on them and their information, taking pictures of them, etc (0:43/0:38). The monster had kidnapped multiple children already. Note that the moment when Mimi and Mok weren't wearing the same outfit as many of the other children in the paintings at 0:30 was on their missing posters(0:46), meaning that every moment where they did wear this "uniform" they had likely already interacted with the monster or were about to interact with it. 2. The monster kidnapped the children, grooming them into seeing it and the situation they were in as some sort of normal situation. This is shown by their lack of any distress at (0:30/0:32)/(0:43) and how they drew themselves holding hands with the monster at 0:27, proving how close they were to it and their comfort with this criminal. They were also extremely comfortable with the cannibalism they committed(0:07/0:13)/(0:18) which also signifies how they were being mentally manipulated. It's also quite likely the monster used them as assistants, shown by how, in the next section, Mimi is quite experienced in killing even people who are stronger than him. 3. Mok was killed by the monster, leading to Mimi killing the monster and escaping (0:46). This is shown by a combination of small hints: at 0:13 Mimi sings, by themselves, signifying how he is the one telling the story. This particularly shows Mok's death due to how Mimi and Mok were always with each other but weren't together at that moment. There's also the fact that, although they always held hands in the paintings, they didn't hold each other's hands in person (which could mean that they weren't able to due to how Mok was killed). There's also the fact that, although there are many cut-up versions of both Mok and Mimi, there were more of Mok (though it could be argued that this is a stretch). For how Mimi murdered the monster, it's simple. Chloroform was shown right after the monster's body was stuffed inside the dark room. This signifies that Mimi first knocked out the monster with chloroform then cut it up with the bloodied weapon at the end. It's basically guaranteed that these were both the monster's items. 4. In terms of aftermath, Mimi is alone, traumatized, and homeless. This is shown by when Mimi sings alone and says "Now only dogs will follow me" (at 0:13/0:16). Mimi is still wearing the clothes from the events and you never see his lower sleeves, so you can't tell if there's blood there. Him also sitting alone on a carousel during the night for no reason, this seems to imply homelessness as he is sleeping in the carousel due to not being able to get home after the events.

yeah I rewatched the video a few times and. yep pretty sure this is 100% it also "although there are many cut up versions of both Mok and Mimi, there were more of Mok (though it could be argued that this is a stretch)" I don't think it's a stretch at all tbh - every time Mimi was shown dead, it was always in scenes shared with Mok ( 0:24 0:45 0:47 ), whereas Mok had scenes totally to himself ( 0:08 0:21 ) but yeah this is great!!

0:46 wait hold up, its them on the missing flyer because at 0:28 they scribble the same names on their drawings "mimi and mok" edit: so after rewatching this for as many times as my brain could handle today, I came up with something: the two kids, mimi and mok are homeless, basically roaming here and there (hence easier to abduct). at the shopping mall/department store they meet the *thing* which is the insect cryptid. now the insect could just be a metaphor for an actual murderer that enjoys cannibalism. there are two ways this could have gone: either he took them amongst many other children and at some point the two murdered him (the scene at the end where they are covered in blood and holding hands) and took his role, or he took them as his first prey (hence the first missing flyer was with them on it) and the two murdered him and continued his legacy. Considering the song lyrics actually go along with the story, there could also be another explanation: "I bite the hand that feeds me" maybe he took them and raised them while teaching them their cannibalistic tendencies and they ended murdering him and continued as he had taught them. I could be completely wrong but the point is that this is a masterpiece, thank you zem for feeding us with iconic content once and again :') edit no. 2: yes, I'm back again because why not. since the song got stuck in my head, I did a little background check and found out its from an old 11 minute long film made in the 1983s called "possibly in michigan". it talks about the story of two friends; one of the girls was stalked by a cannibalistic killer who saw them at the mall. in the film he is obsessed by the smell of the girls and is apparently searching for a smell like "home" and even hurts one of them and intends to kill her under the excuse of "love". then he stalks the girl into her home until both of the girls kill him then eat him, throwing his bones (wrapped up in a trash bag) in the garbage. theres lots of shots that include dogs on them. apparently the film was made by a woman who dated an actual killer (called the unicorn killer or something similar) and due to her lack of sense of smell, she didn't notice the smell of the decaying body in their home. he was caught and she was traumatized so that inspired the short movie (hope the source was correct). Now relating to this animation, we can speculate a little bit more about the so called insect creature/killer. as another reply here took notice, there's pictures on the walls of kids wearing uniforms. it may be considered safe to assume that the insect/killer was searching for some companionship/love but nonetheless not without the cannibalistic tendecies (as he probably tried to murder one of them), maybe he even tried the same in the past but succeded in killing the other kids (the photos on the wall). this time fortunately mimi and mok put an end to it by killing him, but not without becoming the same as him, cannibals. I may be dwelling on this too much but what can I say, we all have things we enjoy.

yeah I agree at 0:44 there is a note on the right side that has a schedule of mimi and mok day as well as a picture of them on the other side. definitely kidnapped and turned into cannibals by kidnapper only to eat said kidnapper eventually. so yeah mok and mimi kidnapped first, chrysalis trains them to eat people by evidence of 0:46 with them being first missing poster and the assorted plates of food/body parts at 0:47 Chrysalis is killed by chloroform and then tire iron

The black cat is named Mok and the white cat is named Mimi (0:06). They are followed around by an insect creature (0:30). Mimi says "now only dogs will follow me"(0:13). The "dog" is the insect creature. Because the two characters are cats, this line is used to emphasis that this creature is chasing/hunting them down like a dog. Note that Mimi says this on a carousel (this is symbolism I'll get back onto later in the theory section). then we see POV shots of the insect creature following Mok and Mimi in the night, discovering they eat their own kind (0:17). From 0:21 to 0:28 we get a dark comedy montage. 0:20 shows a puddle of Mok and Mimi's body parts, we see it slightly move (this is probably how the insect creature was born). 0:23 shows a pile of dismembered parts of Mok and Mimi, implying that both characters have died many times. 0:28 shows both characters drawing themself with insect creature, holding hands. Finally, at. 0:30 we see that the insect creature has intruded into their home. 0:34-0:37 explains to us Mok and Mimi's first encounter with this thing. They met in Michigan at a mall. At 0:39 we see surveillance camera footage. Note that there is carousel to the right of this footage (is is blurred). 0:40-0:42 is straight forward. They met in a department store (within a mall). 0:43 we see a shot of packaged food of body parts. 0:44 shows the same shot but it's used to imply that time has passed. Some notable things: A schedule to the top right of the shot and polaroid photos each saying "stake out" with different numbers. The stake outs show that Mok and Mimi have been lurking out at night (which makes sense bc they are cats). 0:45 Finally we get another dark comedy shot of body parts falling. 0:46 is when everything is revealed. They are missing people, including Mok and Mimi. This shows that they were once human with no cat ears or tail. It’s very fast but to the right of Mok and Mimi’s picture there is another missing person. Most notably it says, “LAST SEEN: Summer Mall”. We get the name of the mall Mok and Mimi first met their stalker. 0:47 shows that Mok and Mimi killed the stalker insect. 0:49 shows a shot of chloroform and cloth. If you don’t know, chloroform is used to suffocate a victim. This can be done by pouring chloroform one a cloth, and putting it over someone’s mouth. Finally at 0:51 we see that Mok and Mimi have already killed their victim. *T H E O R Y* 🧠 The reason why so many people are missing is because Mok and Mimi have been eating them. *The big plot twist of this whole animation is that the insect creature is actually the good guy.* It was implied that Mok and Mimi have already died and now they have taken the form of cats. They lurk out in the night to kill and eat their victims. I theorize this insect creature is actually a decomposer (I feel like it should even be named “the decomposer”). At 0:20 it implies that this creature manifested from Mok and Mimi’s dead body parts. This makes sense because decomposer insects are are attracted to dying things, they would lay their eggs in rotting bodies. This insect is chasing Mok and Mimi, because they are supposed to be dead. However, this insect keeps failing. This is why we see so many body parts of Mok and Mimi. They died so many times but they keep coming back. The carousel at the beginning of the video is symbolic of this never ending *“dog and cat chase”* between these characters. Since Mok and Mimi killed the decomposer insect they can continue their cannibalism. However, this insect will eventually come back and manifest again from Mok and Mimi’s rotting corpses. It’s a never ending loop. *The "loop" part of this narrative is shown at the beginning and end of the video. **0:06** and **0:51** show the same exact shot. It implies that the story is starting all over again. Also at **0:17**, the decomposer insect is referred to as a "he". ONLY FEMALE insects lay eggs. This further implies that there are more decomposer insects out there hunting for Mok and Mimi* Other interpretations and unintentional details🔎: - Chloroform is also used in pesticides. That’s why it was used to kill the decomposer insect - Mok and Mimi’s names both relate to water. I really enjoyed this. Didn’t notice they were missing ears in the first missing poster. A few things I’d like to add are the packaged finger lickin good meal they ate. The container says that the meal is fried noodles. So I think their perspective of what food is is being altered. Secondly, the trap door behind the page photo. When they’re drawing we can see this used to be a hallway that the demon/monster/creature was in. That means a wall was built over the creature itself, but they still have access to it through the trap door. I don’t know why they’re covering the creature with corpses. None of the body’s really seem decomposed though.

@@chasecollins3263 Thanks you for adding! Yeah I do agree with you...I theorize none of the bodies are decomposing because Mok and Mimi are cannibals, they are already eating dead bodies. Mok and Mimi are taking away the insect's job, leaving it with nothing to eat. This is why the insect follows them around, it wants to feed off whatever Mok and Mimi kills. However Mok and Mimi are too selfish to share, and kill it. but I honestly still don't know. I feel like zemyata took inspiration from another animated short, PUPARIA. HOLY SHIT, THIS IS PHENOMENAL. I just gotta theory craft this. I’ll do the best I can to organize. Both kids at the beginning were wearing the same clothes, and their were photos of other cat kids to the left and right of them (possible victims). So I feel like this is an orphanage or foster home. I believe the two grew a fascination for meat after visiting the store and eating what appears to be other cats fingers and eyes. They seems to have killed people inside and outside of the orphanage, and they always marks their victims paths when they stakes them out. It’s also possible that this is told from a second person perspective, like with the flash light and camera part. However I don’t really think that’s the case. I believe one of the other foster kids is trying to expose Mimi and Mok, and eventually they finds out and kill her/him with the bat. I also believe mimi's about to kill mok. Which is why she tightens her grip on her bat, so Mok will be the last sacrifice to feed the creatures thirst. (also her nails are long, which is an old Jewish fortune telling trick for telling ones willingness to kill another (Side note: Seriously the attention to detail is fucking amazing)) . I believe the demon in the hallway to actually be Phi Pop. Phi Pop is a ghost women who possesses people to make them eat raw human and animals in Thai culture. I feel like them drawing like kids signifies they were younger, and approached by Phi Pop. A wall was put in front of the creature, but for some reason they still have access to it, I think it's so they can feed it or burrier with corpses. Next comes the store and plastic packaged meal. I believe that the store is a creation of the creature, and after sacrificing others they go to the store to indulge in a ritualist eating. น ิ ้วทอด means fired noodles in Thai, so it's enterally possible the packaged meal was actually regular food, and they're visual conception of what 'food' is is being altered by the monster. That's all, but like seriously man, amazing animation. I feel like I’ve heard this song in one of your compilation videos before, but I couldn’t find it when I looked back. Please continue to make this art, I’m excited for your upcoming project.

information i have collected from the video 0:04 image on the wall of two characters holding the hands in front of a small wooden door 0:06 zooms out of the image showing the characters in front of the image looking behind them 0:08 black haired character's head on plate 0:12 the hand takes the finger on the table 0:14 white haired character appears on a carousel 0:18 the characters are cannibals, appears to be eating what looks like the white haired character's 0:21 their bodyparts in a puddle 0:23 head gets thrown into the pile with the multiple other bodyparts 0:26 characters made a drawing of them holding hands with the creaute signifying a bond or some sort of connection with it, i read the words mimi and mok, im assuming thats their names 0:30 images of characters on the walls are similar to the mimi and mok, possible relatives(?) 0:33 bee on the table 0:35 mimi and mok in the eyehole of an apartment door 0:37 bee on the table gets smashed by a finger lol 0:39 mimi and mok are at a store of some sort, carousel from the beginning is seen again blurred to the right 0:40 they're in a meat section of the store 0:42 creature reflects in mok's eyes 0:43 store bento that said fried finger on it 0:43 the bento is opened papers with "stake out #_" on them, note that says "path home", "8:30 leave" 0:44 the bento is eaten, "stake out #15" appears note in the corner the words "names:mok," appear on it 0:45 multiple body parts of mimi and mok 0:46 missing people only have black and white hair, along with similar skin tones to the mimi and mok 0:47 creature thing with the body parts of mimi and mok, flies flying around mimi closes the small wooden door from the image in the beggining "we wont see him anymore" 0:49 empty bottle of chloroform 0:50 the image of the children looking at the wall appear again but this time the wooden door isn't there and as it zooms out theres blood splattered and mimi is holding a rod 0:52 zooms in on mimi's hand holding the rod small bits of research cannibalism in mythology is almost always used as a method of revenge or punishment i looked up bee symbolism and two things popped out to me,to the greeks the bee can be a symbolic representation of immortality. in egyptian culture the bees can represent birth, death and resurrection. also chloroform in small doses can cause one to feel sluggish and disoriented, but with increasing dosage you can lose consciousness and feel no pain or sensation. in higher doses it can lead to tense breathing, complete muscle relaxation and paralysis of the chest muscles, which can often be fatal. connections i've made with all the information gathered! (warning: doesn't make much sense) the bee was crushed by a finger on the table, and there was a huge pile of the body parts, but it was only until after the bee was crushed the flies started swarming the pile later in the video. the bee didn't appear until after they introduced the creature thing, so im assuming that that's their source of immortality to help them from experiencing the side effects of the chloroform, however after the bee was crushed the creature thingy appeared to have been thrown into the waste with the unused body parts. only about 2tsp of chloroform can be fatal, taking this into note that the whole bottle was empty means that mimi and mok assuming they've consumed it their bodys must have been experiencing these things which is why they may or may not have been collecting body parts for a new functioning body and throwing away the damaged ones. the missing people had similar features to mimi and mok, and they appeared eating to be a body that looked like mimi in the beginning of the story, so they were eating the people to regenerate/ replace their body parts. the pictures of the characters similar to mimi and mok on the walls at 0:30 make me think of coraline- there have been others before mimi and mok, or their siblings and have been going through that cycle they're going through, im unsure what happened to them though, or they could just be their deceased family members no idea. i dont mind if you build off of my connections and create your own theories from them, but do please tell im very curious as of what you guys think of the video!

You sir, deserve a medal. Edit: The kids drawling scene opens up to the creature in a hallway that's not supposed to be there. I feel like this part is early in the story, and that the open hallway suggests that a wall was put over the creature and a trap door was installed to feed it. Maybe not feed, but they still have access to if for some reason.

WARNING: VERY LONG THEORY so i have a theory (but first let me just say i love ur work omg ok here we go) obviously, there are two main themes: kidnapping and cannibalism (or gluttony to an extent). For kidnapping, we are shown chloroform (a popular chemical for to evoke unconsciousness, mostly for kidnapping), a lot of lost/missing posters featuring the main two: Mok and Mimi, and this very fast scene at 0:44, wherein we see papers on the table including “path home, 8:30 leave” on the right and stakeouts”, and the very last scene of the lunchbox being eaten shows the abductor had found of the cats names. For cannibalism, it is very recurrent with body parts (fingers, eyes, heads, limbs) and visible consumption. We are led to believe the bug entity (who I’ll just call bug) partakes in eating said cat folk, but we are also shown an earlier scene of Mok and Mimi eating what seems to be another cat person at 0:17. OKAY so we have those main themes out of the way, now to try and make sense out of it. For the simpler theory, bug had most likely kidnapped them. At 0:40 and around that time frame, the lyrics match the atmosphere: “Had we met before - possibly in Michigan - In some strange department store” they are seen by the frozen isle section, then looking off to the camera and then bug reflects in their eyes. The quick 3 scenes after at 0:44 depict when exactly they were caught (which I applaud Zemyata for how creative it was): 1) The lunch box is still wrapped inside the frozen section (the lower grills, the other packs by the sides and corner) 2) A new table (most likely bug’s home) with papers detailing his stalking efforts and 3) by the end of the meal, he discovers Mok and Mimi’s name - marking the completion of bug’s abduction of the two. 2nd theory, Mok and Mimi are most likely already dead - but for some reason may regrow limbs, or come back to life. Other than the abduction scene, we can see a clear abundance of their limbs alone multiple times: 0:24, 0:45, and 0:47. Why I assume they may regrow limbs (or duplicate ???) is from 0:20, where their limbs are on a puddle, and for a quick second the puddle moves/breathes, as if to form itself again. 3rd theory, a sort of parent relationship? At 0:27 Mok and Mimi draw themselves with bug, and the lyrics along with that specific scene of them drawing fit uncomfortably well: “Some kind of animal cannibal - made impressions on me.” This can suggest Mok and Mimi’s cannibalistic tendencies where inherited from bug, or they had it prior to their abduction. Not to mention the sort of promised neverland vibes. 4th theory, bug dies. Not much of a theory than it is an explanation. At 0:45, a number of limbs are showered, and by 0:47 we see said abundance with bug - bug is no longer alive by the absence of its pupil, and the swarming of flies. Though most likely killed by the poker Mimi holds at 0:52, I believe it was only after a matter of rebirths (referencing back to the regeneration theory) since at 0:52 again, they look at an older version of themselves still staring into the darkness which may be the cellar they kept bug in. Also due to the abundance of limbs bug is buried with which may reference how many times they had to die. I think a really beautiful way of saying it is from 0:34, with the bug (bee) still alive, and after laying eyes on Mok and Mimi, the bee is crushed by a separated thumb/finger. 5th theory, Mok and Mimi aren’t the only ones. At 0:45, a flurry of missing and lost posters pile up. Most of said background-characters from the flyers are also found at 0:30 by the pictures on the walls. In the same scene, the bug looks around, and can only find Mok and Mimi, which may be why Mok and Mimi don’t have their photos up yet with the others who are now gone. 6th theory, the start is the end (please let me explain). By 0:14, Mimi is seen sitting by a carousel which is featured later in 0:39 right before their abduction. In 0:14, the lyrics dictate “Now only dogs will follow me”, which may be why Mimi returned to the carousel after bug’s death. And by 0:17, Mimi and Mok are caught partaking in cannibalistic actions, which may be a result of bug’s influence. (ORR 0:14-0:17 is really the start and I’m just reading too much into it) But yeah that’s it I love Zemyata’s work and I might’ve spent way too much time on this hehe

Before we go to the in depth theory crafting lets get the rought timeline first: 1. (0:13, 0:39) They enter the abandoned gallery, probably using carousel and gained their abilities and cat like feutures in the process 2. (0:39,0:35) They encounter bug like entity, after that it seems they tried to hide in one of the shops (0:41) 3. After discovering it to be not hostile they are "adopted" by it. From the look of the paintings (0:06 and 0:51) althrought they are feed and somewhat liking it (0:27) they are still trapped and are truly free after killing it. 4.They kill it (0:51,0:47) 5.They get out (0:17) 6.They start killing by themselves (0:19) It seems like it is indeed another dimention*^1 that they got transpoted into using cat carousel ,it is also the source of their abilities and new cat feutures (just as all previous children [4]) as we see by all the missing posters and (0:30) photos in creatures house*^2. They meet the creature for the first time in galery next to the elevator stairs and carousel, they try to run away but are cornered at the meat alley in one of shops, folowing the creature and getting adopted by it (for unknown reason, probably to harvest their meat using their regenerative abilites to sell to other monsters). Mok & Mimi live mostly happily but traped (the bug creature seems to also work and mayby even tries to find a way to return them home?).They KILL it and even finally escape that place (0:18) ,still they have to eat human meat to survive. They became the monster that they wanted to escape form. *1 Main points pointing to that are: fact that human meat is selled there, the creature goes to work every day at 8:30 *2 (0:46) we can even try and connect all four poster children to they photos counterparts.

Theory moment. I think the two kemonomimis seen throughout the video are already dead in some manner. Possibly died from malnutrition from eating other kids (hence the missing person posters). The weird bug thing would be just a way how the two character sees the person who originally kidnap them. Some kind of insect that needs to be squashed and thrown out (probably the scene where it’s seen dead in the pile of chopped limbs). - My second theory instead of the first that the two characters lost their humanity (hence the animal ears) after being taken by their kidnapper cannibal (the bug thing). Losing their humanity in the process by also committing in humane acts of cannibalism. Even if it could be on a lesser scale compared to their kidnapper. (An alternative could be the bug thing was never real. Just a manifestation of their negative ideals of eating missing kids. When they killed the bug, they sort of killed their will to continue to eat more people.)

THEORY TIME BOIS: What if the two stars in the video we're cannibalistic doppelgangers? Throughout the video there are two versions of the people, the alive and the dismembered. At the beginning and end of the video as well, our protagonists seem to be standing in front of the mirror, and by the end the outer protags are covered in blood, one holding a weapon of some sort. There's also that were bug looking thing buy we'll get to that later. Judging by the missing posters we can assume that these two are responsible. Maybe they take the appearance of someone who seems to have a well off life and kills them? Then there's the obvious bug symbolization, a wasp being squashed by a thumb is shown. The bug guy/demon thing also seems like an amalgamation of multiple body parts while also looking like a bug. Maybe the two characters here see their victims like bugs? The bug demon seems (to me at least) to be a being made of their victims. But this is just a theory, a gAME TH-
