This album is on the same level, if not, better than Time Skiffs and that album got a full review. With this much time having passed between Isn't It Now?'s release along with the interview that discussed the album at length, it deserves a full review. That and AnCo was literally one of the greatest pioneers of the 2000s.

I can see how to some it'd appear more boring or not as captivating as their other stuff, but either way you gotta admit their creativity and sound is totally unmatched! It's a grower, at least for me. Time Skiffs never really landed anywhere specific. It was like kind of their old sound but not as impactful with the live instruments. This one they double down and get more jammy. Every songs been stuck in my head at least once since.

I think it’s a 9 or a 10. Some of the best modern psych, none of it loud and in your face. I think heavy psych is in a bad place. Anco is releasing psych that’s slow, methodical, and very organic sounding. This is one of their best eras and I can’t understand why Fantano dislikes it so much. To each their own though I guess, but at least do a full review. It’s Animal Collective. The indie scene is practically indebted to them. He prolly wouldn’t enjoy my review for Spellling.

Hello there, I'm Zuddama and I need help. Yesterday I wanted to listen to an album on YT that I had listened to and really enjoed, but I can't find it because I forgot the name. I remember the cover was a bit dark, maybe of a city and there were elements of orange and pink and blue tones on the other side. It was like ambient music of the past century, probably 70s or 80s. I remember that one of the first tracks lasts about 4 minutes and was pretty scary. I found that album on a YT rare music channel. I hope I remember well what I just wrote. I personally disagree, the structure of the songs and the diverse production reminds me a lot of the songs that I would hear in dreams. It can be very hectic, but also very human at many points. For example, songs like Gem & I and Broken Zodiac! Of course, can't forget Defeat ;)

The jams aren’t captivating and if anything they’re slightly grating. I enjoy the new musical themes in theory but they’ve only really wowed me with Defeat, Dragon Slayer and Prester John. The rest has been strong meh. Much, much prefer their chaotic electronic stylings.

Yeah this stuff is definitely more meditative, not as sporadic or layered as their other releases. Personally the payoffs for songs like magicians and defeat still hit hard, but that’s mostly because I’ve grown fond of the live jams they did over the past 4-5 years (The live versions definitely are more rewarding and climactic in my opinion). But Gem & I and Broke Zodiac weren’t that grating I think?
