Thanks for watching this video, guys! If you guys have any song suggestions, especially songs that could use the talkbox (I was thinking Splatoon, Persona 5?) then let me know here! www.insaneintherainmusic.com/song-suggestions (Copy-pasted from the description): For those who don't know, the talkbox is basically a box with an amplifier in it, that sends a signal through this long plastic tube. I'm sending a saw wave controlled by my MIDI keyboard out from my audio interface into the talkbox, and then into my mouth. From there, I basically mouth the words without generating any actual sound from my vocal cords, and then the microphone picks up the audio as it's modulated from my mouth! It's such a cool concept, and I would love to use it in future videos.

I ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND THE SCIENCE BEHIND THIS! Your vocal cords aren’t doing any work, you have replaced them with the sound coming out of the tube, you use your mouth to modulate the words. For all you people at home, you can try this just by going out and moving your lawn, your lawnmower can actually get the same effect, or at least it can for me, I’d always wondered if you could use this for music. This is very cool, thank you insaneintherain.
@insaneintherainmusic4 жыл бұрын
I'm glad it makes sense to you! I think one of the easiest demonstrations of this is using an electric toothbrush! You can modulate the sound that the toothbrush generates in the same way, just no pitch changing.

Yeah I noticed that too! I added in that section around 6:40 to make sure that everybody was shown on screen for at least some portion of the video - the overlapping was unavoidable with the layout I ended up deciding to go with, but I think 6:40 made up for it. Thanks :)

Dude, this SLAPS. Fecking brilliant, stem to stern. I wish you'd show more of the bass and drums in your videos. As a fellow "multi", MAD respect for your ideas, chops, but mostly the REALLY important stuff (groove, meter, pocket) is right on the nose.

I love this! I love that you put so much heart into this by letting fans take part in the arrangement (loved having everyone shout the lick in unison). On top of all that, I just want to say this had one of the sickest saxophone solis I've ever heard in my entire life. Awesome work as always my due!
