Same. Plus I think these gyroids will be more versatile (putting on shelves or tables) instead of them taking up a lot of room like the ones in Wild World. Haven't played City Folk so not sure if they were smaller than WW. But also I'm hoping for them to fix the duplicate recipes as well. I'm a sucker for lazy villagers, they just fit my own personality so I just get the same dialog and the same recipes from all my villagers. I really hope they've diversified the personalities a bit too, even if it's just one new line of dialog per villager. Like talking about their interests or life goals. It'd help to match the villagers with the new jobs in the resort since I've had to basically rely on the internet so far to figure out what everyone likes. Feels a bit impersonal that way. I'd love to naturally discover these things about my villagers in the game.

Yeah, making them all tiny was a fantastic design choice; Now they actually looked like haniwas which properly decorate the room rather than sentient hydrants which mostly clashed with the room; I also hated how you were forced to choose between sizes for the pitches and the big chonky ones just looked bad.

The thing about certain older sets not coming back because of customization is a valid point, considering the Kiddie series is basically in the game already in all but name due to being alternate forms of the Wooden-Block series. So, like, the Blue and Green sets could basically be the regular wood furniture but painted blue or green.

In my opinion, it's good they didn't implement all these features from the very beginning. Back in NL, I was overwhelmed by all the stuff you could do (especially in the city), and now in NH with the new feature of island designing it was best to pace it slowly. Only unlocking new stuff one after another, so we had time to get used to all of them. If all the stuff from the 2.0 update had been in 1.0, I wouldn't have known where to start tbh.

@@PaperMario64 everyone has gotten so used to instant gratification these days that if something isn’t immediately done, they lose interest. there’s not a lot of understanding of what goes on behind the scenes (probably because animal crossing has such a casual player base). i really appreciate nintendo respecting their workers enough to not force them to crunch bc the fan base doesn’t understand how game production works. hells yeah, nintendo.

@@elli_senfsaat i have a theory that all of the updates were meant to be in the final game but they weren’t able to finish in time for the march release. they already had to postpone the release once, so they probably took the time from that to polish core features, the appearance of the game, and overall playability. in order to give us a complete game, they took even more time to work on bigger things (brewster, reid, all the fun stuff we missed on release) and put them out in updates. it seems like a very clever way to prevent crunch and keep people tuned into updates.

@@beefy74 I'm sorry, but it has nothing to do with instant gratification. If a company expects me to pay full price for something, I expect that something to be finished, period. I ESPECIALLY expect it to not give me less content then the thing I paid the same price for that came before it. It's dumb to expect people to sit on their hands and praise a company for giving them LESS for their money. Not to mention, unless they make a New Horizon's "complete edition" or some bullcrap like that, if the servers ever go down, fuck us I guess who like to not treat our games as disposable/consumable objects since if the game's ever deleted from your system at that point you're stuck with the base version of the game that doesn't even have the HOLIDAYS in it.

I'm both right now. I've been planning to get a second Switch for a while now for various reasons and this spurred me to finally do it so I'll have two islands to work with. My main island I feel 80% happy with but I can use the new stuff in this update to finish up the remaining 20%. And of course I know have a second, completely virgin island to explore any and all leftover ideas I come up with after finishing my main island. It's going to be crazy!

I feel like with all the new work items (hospital and etc) there should be a feature that lets us buy an empty «shop» building so that we dont have to make a fake one. Like for example a restaurant, i’d love to make a indoor one that is in an actual building and not a fake building where you can see the sky. The buildings could have custom names too so the villagers can tell us how fun they had it at the restaurant. Also instead of it looking like a normal house we can make it look like a shop by choosing different exterior that fits the type of shop. Just thought about this since i would love to use the new items but i dont know how to 🥲

Yeah, you can. But that is clearly displaying more than 1 flower head. So currently, we can only display 1 flower in a vase by picking say a lily. Shame you couldn't display 3-4 different flowers, or even colours

You CAN display flowers in a vase by “placing” picked flowers. I’m not sure if you already knew that or if you meant that you can’t put multiple in the same pot like shown at 15:58. Either way, thought I’d let you know. So excited!!!

Gyroids are much better now because they can sit on stuff and shelves. They took up SO much space before you had to have a gyroid specific build. You can also turn them off for people that don't know incase you don't want them to make noise.

The second the video showed gyriods I was filled with joy only to be taken aback by the new look. They are absolutely adorable and unique. I love love love the old ones though. They are clunky, creepy cute, and I loved trying to collect the whole family of them. It was like completing my own secret museum quest. I hope some of the old gyriods are still around.

My biggest hope for the returning sets is that they'll have a bunch of colour variations just like a lot of the furniture we already have! I'd love to see a darker style for the Rococo furniture for more gothic homes and a lighter pastel version for all of the fairy and princess themed builds out there, for example. It'd allow for more customization and give a (literal) fresh coat of paint to a lot of beloved furniture! (note: ACNH is my first AC game outside of Pocket Camp so I have no idea if this was the case in the past - I'm just going off of learning that there was a Green set and assuming they were locked to one colour. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!!)

The wood item at 10:50 is a Japanese bus stop, something that you'd see in rural areas. I'm so excited for the update and dlc, especially since most of the new things shown is from Happy Home Designer, New Leaf and the welcome amiibo for New leaf. That gives me a strong feeling that there is a ton of items being added in that case, not to mention new items specifically for New Horizons.

We need proper bathing suits, the ones they have atm are from the 1920's . I want to look cute when I sunbathe by the beach and designing one isn't the same. I like both the new and old designs _but_ I do hope we see some faithful adaptations of at least _some_ of the classical Gyroid families, like the Poltergoids. I feel bad that there are still features I want in the game, because the development team worked so hard for us! Theres no harm in just putting my ideas out there, right? I still want NPCs like Shrunk, Copper, Booker, etc. I also want Club 101 to return in some fashion. Also, please let us use greenhouse furniture items as flower storage!!! ps. I enjoy the new gyroids more, but I wouldn't mind having a few of the old ones returning as well. Mix it up with a few large ones and a few mini ones!

OK, it's been pointed out already, but there are some items on this list that are not actually new. One you didn't mention was that the first item in the last row of the Food items is actually a customized Frying Pan, and already exists in the game. Also, one of the wall decorations appears to be an existing piece of artwork, though maybe there's something different about it?

thats actually not a customization of the frying pan, as you can see theres a little blue cloth under teh pan which isnt there if you go and customize the frying pan we have already

@@rose-abagale yeah the one with the cloth beneath it is new (it's like somekind of uh...pie dish? I'm not too familiar with baked dishes). But there has been an image/collage going around showing a frying pan with stir fry (which we already have) along with the Mom's Tea item. But the one in the video is indeed a new item

The plant partition isn't from pocket camp. It's actually in the older Animal Crossing games too! Same with the hospital furniture! I looks like they just updated/added in all of the old furniture from the OG Happy Home Designer and previous games! Still exciting to have a ton more items though!

Most people don’t care, but Gyroids not being included was the number 1 reason I stopped playing after only 200 hours. They were always my favorite thing to collect and I love the new design for them. They have a lot of character and look smaller which means fitting more in a space.

Yknow I never was happy with my island. I would design something, love it for a week, then absolutely hate what I just did. The cycle repeats but eventually I just never commit to something. Im excited for all the new items and features, makes me feel motivated to try again

You can display your flowers already. Go stand next to a table or desk and place one. They only show one flower in a vase but it is still cute.

honestly i liked the older designs for the gyroids compared to the new ones but thats just me

tbh i put that egg flower box infront of the tailors and left it there for like a year LOL so yay for more flower boxes!!

I LOVE that you have to water the gyroids .. it makes them so much more lively! ♡
