I hope you all enjoyed the Direct 🥳 So this is just a fun video of my general reactions to it and a bit of chit chat as we go. It’s obviously unscripted, so I’m a bit awkward and nervous, so please be kind lol. I like the fact that in every direct there's been at least one photo of the eight characters, and the boy with the bandaid on the nose has produced a fish in every one of those - each one bigger than the last. A subtle but fun detail to the marketing.

i think it is possible to get stuck in a place on your map if you lose your vaulting pole/ladder somehow, especially when playing with multiple players, so i assume the rescue service is to prevent that

First of all let me be DIRECT. The amount of customization now available to design your island is staggering when you think about for a while. I have never time travelled ( daylight saving excluded ) but played though each day but I wonder how some people who like to race through the game will feel about the limitation. Pesonally I ❤ it. Add to it the modding you can bring to your Island and this game will have some serious and lasting value. I have LOVEd all the HYPE and did not expect this presentation to be quite this good. Can't wait to get away. I'm packing my bags already!

Glenn Wood I liked to time travel because I wanted to unlock things faster and get more items on certain events. But I don’t mind the restrictions that much tbh. Since nobody is able to time travel there will not be almost finished islands in a short amount of time.

As someone who use to TT, I’m happy about the restriction, because TT’ing ruined my experience with acnl after I unlocked everything in one week so I ended up deleting my town and started again with no TT

But I was new to the Series ( started on ACNL ) and as an old gamer wanted to see what this game was like since I'd heard about it over the years. The slow, relaxing pace and the hope of finding something new everyday kept me glued to it everyday for close to two years. The only problems I encountered were in placing my dirt paths ( forcing animals to use it by using hegdes ) and the random placement of new residents over my planning; now both have been addressed. I'm one happy camper.

I'm honestly disappointed that TT might not be a thing. Me being the way I am, if I try and play New Leaf or Wild World without TT I get bored and end up forgetting I have a DS for a while. Not only that, but my job schedule makes it difficult for me to catch certain creatures in the evening and at night. I really dislike that I miss out on an entire aspect of the game, the night life, because of my real life responsibilities.

Waiting for the months to change so I could collect some different bug or fish. And the animals were saying new things I hadn't heard before years after. To say I was impressed is an understatement. I treated it like it was my life. My family thought I was mad. Nevertheless they got me a switch last year in anticipation of this game. And here it almost is!

Re the rescue option: the Direct says it’s for if you get stuck in a place exploring and don’t have a way back. If you watch that section all over again and look at the map that pops up, you’ll notice the player is stuck in that part of the beach (somehow), so they called the rescue!

Wilbur and Orville Dodo birds are based on the Wright brothers, the brothers who invented the first motored airplane in early 1900.. Wilbur Wright and Orville Wright.. Which is kinda cool honoring them kind of.

My favourite part is all the combined features that basically mean you don't need to keep resetting/cycling maps to find the "perfect" one since it looks like in the long term, you can shape it how you want, including buildings

I haven’t seen anyone point this out- but timmy/tommy were walking around the map away from the service center. So i think that sorta opens up the doors for past characters that aren’t here to possibly visit and show up randomly walking around- similar to Phineas, Joan/Daisy Mae, Katie- possibly might be how we see blanca. Or maybe we may see her on some sort of means of transportation like in past games before New Leaf. I would say the plane but it seems its just a jump-cut similar to the train in New Leaf.
