I've been playing for like 1.5 months and I've never heard of Papi or saw him in any yt videos/my own hunts, until I got Nintendo online and started to visit other people's islands. As both a biologist and a new Animal Crossing fan, I'm loving this content! Maybe you mentioned it but Leonardo is also a leopard, instead of a tiger. I've also wondered if Keaton could be based on some sort of a parrot, like the blue-and-yellow macaw, though the connection isn't as clear. PS. I recently got Kyle to my island and I really love him! Sadly Beau had already moved out before him, but Kyle has really bonded with Fuchsia over their shared love for music, so at least he seems to get along well with deer villagers.

My childhood home burned down last year... It took my Grandpa and my Stepdad... My mom made it out by a miracle. 3 generations of my family grew up in that home... There’s been a lot of bad times... My mom and I are both battling with PTSD... I had just started getting better, and then covid happened... Throwing me into isolation. I spiraled completely back down again. I love that you refer to animals as people! I had no idea Annabelle was a Pangolin, I thought she was an armadillo. Pangolins are my favorite exotic animal because they look like little artichokes. _Racing Stripes_ is literally my favorite movie of all time. It was my favorite growing up and I probably watched it at least once a week. The voice cast is 👌🏻 and the comedy is actually still pretty funny to me 15+ years later. Also your work sounds so interesting I think I speak for lots of folks when I ask if you would please consider making more content regarding it! The "natural" looking villigers have always been my favorite! The creativity and range they achieved with the ostriches and deer instantly made these two groups my favorite species in the game. Okay, your job sounds SUPER interesting! How did you get into what you do, and was it difficult to get the job you have?

Its definitely not easy! Unfortunately conservation and working w/ animals in general is still such a highly gatekept and inaccessible field to the majority of people, which I hate so much. It’s SUPER HARD for anyone who isn’t made of money like me to break in so I had to work retail full-time, go to school as much as I could AND volunteer/intern a ton and it was really awful and I’d never wish that kind of burnout on anyone- I really do hope the field gets better about that kind of stuff because it makes it so much harder for anyone whose parents don’t have the money to put them through school so they can focus solely on working for free in internships and volunteer jobs!!! However the one good thing about it is that it does have a knack of recognizing the truly passionate amongst all the competition. While school is a part of the equation, for better or worse, zoology and working w animals in general is all about who you know and what kind of experience you have, which can actually help to put you ahead of someone who had all the money & privilege to attend a good school and all that. When I was still working on my undergrad at a lowly community college I had the same exact position at an aquarium as someone w their masters degree! And I literally know of a curator of an entire department at an accredited zoo who never finished their degree, which is insane. Just goes to show how far meeting people in the field, doing a great job & making an impression on them, and building your resume so can go!! The best way to do that is to just get yourself out there, volunteer as much as you can, at as many places as you can, for as long as you can!! I got my current job by thankfully meeting the director of the org as soon as he was starting it up and offering to help with anything I could/volunteer for him and helped out with whatever I could over a year while working full time as a vet tech and when they were finally able they brought me on as staff!

Henry is literally my all time favorite character. I have him on my island and he makes me cry how cute he is. He’s always dancing, vining, chilling, singing, AND HIS HOUSE IS SO CUTE ITS ALL IRONWOOD AND PLANTS AND AHHH he is the best boy, we adore him.

I am sadly allergic to a lot of animal but it’s so so sad learning about how many are in danger of extinction 😢 I can’t work with those babies ever but I definitely want to look into conservation efforts and do my part that way 💕
