Orwell's parable can be read as a biting critique of the rise of Russian communism with it's clear parallels to Trotsky, Lenin and Stalin but also the deeper examination of how even the best intented systems of change and governing can be subverted by selfish nature and corruption. And that's the part proving it's longevity. The story outlived the Soviet Union and will continue to be not just critical of socialism or communism but of any 'revolution in thought' offering supposedly simple solutions to eternal issues.

Stalinist Russia was far more fascist than communist. It really is a shame that communism has become synonymous with someone more akin to Hitler, but with populist worker based rhetoric instead of nonsense about race superiority.

If you actually knew anything about the author and his political views, youd know you're dead wrong. This is against the Soviet union, but though it was censored in America, he said "Every line of my serious work fights, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism, and for democratic socialism."
@trollbiene8410
@trollbiene8410 11 ай бұрын
my guy, you did not get the point of the story lol Animal Farm is anti-capitalism and espacially anti-authoritarianism. It's an allegory to the Soviet Union but it's not anti-communism at all. It's actually totally pro-socialism and pro-communism, as the only good and happy time the animals had was betweem the revolution and the rise of Napoleon as an authoritarian leader, where the animals were actually in charge of the farm, as a community, and where the animals had actually installed communism lol. This isn't even just my interpretation, it's literally George Orwell's intention of the book. The actual "moral of the story" isn't even just "capitalism bad" or "revolution bad". Orwell tells you, that if you take a bath, there might be the possibility that you're going to drown. But even tho there's a certain chance you might actually drown, he doesn't tell you to never take baths again. Just to be aware. That's the message of the book. Not to never do revolutions ever again, just because they might fail (again), but to always be aware of the possibility of failure and it's consequences. But also that capitalism is bad of course lmao

@@trollbiene8410 No he did entirely get the point because what happened in Animal Farm is exactly what happened in the Soviet Union. Being pro socialism (Orwell believes in democratic socialism) and against Soviet style communism are not mutually exclusive

Well, even if some stories like Animal Farm has no good ending, it's always good to imagine one. Think of something we never know might happen. Maybe after all the animals discovered the truth of Napoleon's colors, the animals would quickly evacuate the farm while the pigs, dogs and their guest were eating and drinking until they were too gassed to know the animals escaped and hopefully finds a better and safer farm, with no pigs.

The moral of this story is not neccesairy the piggs being bad. But actually the power they achieved making them bad. Which intrestingly refers to alot of todays real life situations. This book is like a philosophical mindgame shrouded in a fair tale. And is in no way suppost to have a good ending.

Animalism is the echoe of a ever lasting dream, equlity and justice for all animals not matter the size of their brawn or their brain. However, as beautiful as it sounds, it's just that, an ever lasting dream that will never come true. Why? You may ask, and the reason is simple. They trusted their leaders cause they were like them, but that's the catch: They *were".

In Chapter 9 of the book Animal Farm, the pigs take control of the farm and start to run it like a communist regime. The pigs use propaganda and manipulation to control the other animals, and they become more oppressive over time. This chapter highlights the dangers of totalitarianism and how even those who initially support a revolutionary movement can become corrupted by power and greed.

It's funny. Orwell wrote Animal Farm during Stalin's heyday. It's an obvious rejection of Stalinism (with Napoleon=Stalin and Snowball=Trotsky). Part of the reason why it ended the way it did had to do with western countries accepting Stalin for a while. Regardless, after the fall of the Soviet Union, a made-for-tv movie adaptation was released, with relief finally coming years later.

Animal Farm is not anti-communist. It’s a cautionary tale of how a more equal society is at risk of the smartest group coordinating a takeover. In fact, the only time when the animals are truly happy is during the brief time when they controlled the means of production. Whenever power and supplies were owned by a few, it was bad. If anything, it’s a criticism of capitalism and how the few who control the resources will make slaves of the rest

This is happening in the USA. People will rise up against their government.

@@eedunmian3526 The United States is not an authoritarian dictatorship. She has a check and balance system and a two-party system exist so as to avoid having one single party do a dictator role, and why leaders and politicians can be voted in or out. This is why in many movies and novels a US that is a dictatorship or police state usually only had a one party system. The only ones that rose up were those loyal to a traitor of a president that tried to turn the US into his own kingdom and he failed cause he couldn't stomach that most people in the US has a IQ higher than him and were actually human and cares about the situation of the US. These people openly rebelled against over 200 years of tradition, free-rights, and law all to keep a person who lost fairly in office. Now, if there is a country where people will rise up, it will by Russia due to its failing war in Ukraine and the increasing isolation of the nation from trade and the imbalance of its leader and hopefully China is next on the list due to its increasingly extreme measures it has taken on its people who by now must be getting fed up with the One party system that cares only for itself. Both these countries have had increasingly unfair laws, cracked down on protest, and either increased punishment for minor offensives, and routinely will brainwash its population in order to praise the leader or the party.
