Sometimes a pen is just a pen! This book or the video of it is junk. It's purported to tell the story from an animals perspective but still dictated by human. Its conclusion has no value. There is no need to write a story about how a knife can't cut itself. In this aspect George Ordwell failed.

We can do without the plot twist of history, Orwell thinks so too. (he was a staunch revolutionary socialist, having fought in the spanish revolution against stalinists and fascists as a member of the POUM.) This is shown through the actions the pigs take, that craft them into the humans, ie. using the systems of the humans. It starts with the beds in the house, symbolising the bolsheviks seizing the state apparatus. And culminates in the taking of puppies to become vicious attack dogs, the symbolism here being the armed wing of the state, police, military, whatever swathe of armed meat with a hegemony over violence. Orwell's critique was not the animals running the farm or the need of a farmer, he flatly rejects this in interviews, his critique is authoritarians and how badly structured society and revolution creates and fosters them. in fact the most important part of the book was left out of this lesson, the depiction of real life socialism and how much better it worked for all the animals than the tyranny of jones (capitalism) or the pigs. (Stalinism) Orwell believes if we can structure our revolutionary systems of governance in a direct and democratic way, without exploits authoritarians or reactionaries can abuse, we can have a better farm where everyone is equal and free.

@@alastortownsend7483 Orwell was a revolutionary socialist, he fought in the POUM (Workers Party of Marxist Unification) during the spanish civil war. Orwell wished to, and fought for communism, he was not a capitalist nor defended capitalism in this book. He clearly shows an animal run farm (socialism) works better than a man run farm (capitalism) Its only when the well meaning animals seize Jones' house and dogs (the state and armed wing) are the leaders of them (the pigs) transformed into tyrants and slowly become what they fought against. Orwell's critique here is a foundational libertarian socialist one, systems transform people, we are products of our environment. He believes if we want to attain socialism/communism, we mustn't seize the state apparatus with all its systems, else they transform us into what we fought against. We need to build alternatives that can grow and rival the state, before a revolution can be fought and these new systems of comradery and solidarity can sustain our new and drastically different society.
