Some times I forget how fortunate I am, as I've lived in the Orlando area since 1958. If you went to Walt Disney World, my father was one of the craftsmen who built Cinderella's Castle. My parents, my brother, and myself moved here for my father's health in 1958, and Florida gave my father an additional 24 years of life. Glad to see that you just may be a 'Florida Girl' down deep inside.

Hi Miss Marie !!! It's wonderful to know how much Florida Has Stolen Your Heart ❤️ !!! Living Here my Entire life Has been All over Florida & It's incredibly diverse From the Florida keys to Tampa's Bush Gardens magnificent Roller Coasters to Giant safari Park as well as along side Disney In Orlando Universal Studios !!! Harry Potter also Sea World 🌍. But with so much more to Do & The Shopping ,Arts Music Festival to Sports Games the Gulf is much warmer then the Atlantic Ocean but being A novice was probably better for the Atlantic comes with RIP currents that have Unfortunately swept unknowingly tourists to the demise !!! I Have been to the river walk also the Tall ship sailing vessels in St. Pete also in Jacksonville on the st Johns River & Key West. Just remember you got to see the best but living here you learn to endure the worst Hurricanes 🌀 , lightning capital of the world 🌍. One can't take ANYTHING for Granted Here Then the Florida Everglades where we have real Bears , Fla.Panthers ,Gators & now Boa constrictors, Pythons ,pigmy rattlers , moccasin & coral snakes both Brown & Black widow spiders 🕷️ & the Brown recluse. While Florida is Absolutely Beautiful , It must at All times be taken very seriously !!! Just the Sun can kill you here if not well prepared. If you lived in key west it can take 12 Hours just to get out of our state !!! Like Texas & California is Big Yet Alaska is bigger !!! And much colder, and instead of Black bears , Grizzlies and Wolves !!! As always the like button 🔘 has been Illuminated 😁👍👍😎🤗. We the People look forward to our ( French fry ) next Visit !! Stay Healthy & Happy Young Lady !!! 😊

I was so tickled to stumble upon your Florida videos. I live about 2 miles (3 kilometers) from the Tampa riverwalk. I own a nearly 100 year old house. I am old school Florida, as my family came to Florida nearly 150 years ago, when it was almost entirely swamps with beaches on the coast. It is very different today. Most people in Florida these days are fairly new, having moved here recently. In 1950 the population of Floridawas around 2 million. Today it is nearly 23 million. WOW!! That's an explosion of people and why we are now the 3rd most populated state. The oppressive feeling from the heat that you mention in your Gatorland video is Florida's infamous HUMIDITY. The heat is indeed hot, but the humidity is like a jungle, especially in August when you visited. It makes it feel like outdoors is just one giant sauna. Even those of us who have had a lifetime of it, will sometimes still complain about it. Some Americans move here, feel that heat/humidity during the summer and say Hell No! and move away. 😂 Winters here in Florida though? SPECTACULAR! Low to no humidity with very comfortable temperatures. I'm glad that you seem to have had a very good time. I myself have been to Europe, but I visited Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Holland. I didn't make it to France, but it is still on my list. 😄

Hi Marie, As a fellow tourist to the Tampa Bay area (I have family who live within walking distance of the Siesta Key beaches), I'll comment on Gulf of Mexico and it vs. the Atlantic Ocean. I was there in April a few years ago and wading into the Gulf of Mexico around Siesta Key felt like stepping into a hot-tub. Turns out the Gulf of Mexico is so shallow around the Tampa area it stays hot year-round. The water felt great in April but I guess would not feel refreshing in August. Later that trip, we went on a scallop diving trip a few miles off of Tampa Bay in the Gulf. That was a fun trip. But I also remember how shallow the water was miles from Tampa Bay...it was roughly 5 feet deep (1.543 meters) and still warm. Contrast that - we went to St. Augustine a few days later and the Atlantic Ocean water was so cold I could not bring myself to even wade out into it. Also, if you ever go to St. Augustine, please go see Castillo de San Marcos Fort. It is the closest thing we have to a castle in the USA and was amazing to walk around in.

Just thought I’d let you know why the water in the Gulf of Mexico isn’t “refreshing” is because it is very shallow and the water stays warm most of the year. It doesn’t get cold like the Atlantic or Pacific. A fun fact…. Blue fin tuna actually migrate from the Pacific Ocean to the gulf for spawning or “mating”.

I lived in Tampa for nine years. Worked on Harbor Island. You need to be there during Gasparilla festival. You can walk from Harbor Island to the walk without getting your feet wet, there are so many boats in there. They follow the pirate ship in, it's a crazy time. You went to the Columbia Restaurant? I loved eating there. They have a nice one in St. Augustine too that I've been to. I'm kind of rare these days, I'm a native Floridian. I did have some stints living in Alabama, Georgia, California and South Carolina, but I've lived most of my life in Florida, and live there now. Now I'm back in the woods in the panhandle area of the state.

Bonjour Marie! When my Dad passed in December 2022, he had been living outside Tampa for a number of years, so I've been to many of the places that you showed in Tampa. You said the Gulf wasn't refreshing. Was that because it was warm? The Gulf of Mexico is considered "warm" compared to many large bodies of water, and the Summer of 2023 it was measured to be somewhat warmer than normal. I'm glad that you enjoyed your time in hot, humid Florida and weren't too overwhelmed by the heat and humidity. Thanks for sharing! Bonne Année! ~Be Blessed

Oye Sunshining Vibin Marie 😃 🌅 🦜 Disney's 🐭 weaving it's magic again , the crowds were booming & the parrots were fire , the Animal kingdom lookin awesome with its 🌳of life , real convincing , likin all the carvings , I was seeing if Moana was gonna show up. It was just like a Safi drive , more exotic animals than I expected , the cool waterfalls give it that tropical feeling. The guide was enthusiastic , hitting on some interesting facts. They sure know how to put on a show , the 🦁 king was a lot of fun & colourful , makes you wanna dance along to the beat. If you really wanna fly high like that pretty🧚 lady & not just in your dreams your have to join the circus ff , there's one that pitches up every year in my home town , they say buffalo bill's wild west show played there back in the day. It was thrilling taking a trip to Pandora , I see why it's so popular , they made all the effort with the sets & effects , you can fly on banshee in 3-D , the food looked tasty too , you won't get that in a real mess hall. Cruising down to Tampa while unwinding must have felt good after having a great time at the park especially as the city lights up , it's a unique vibe you don't find that much anywhere else in America. I glad you'll exploring more of the beach life , swimming the warm waters of the gulf looked nice & soothing , your happiest in your element. Tampa has some beautiful waterways I like it's mixture of historic & modern architecture with that Cuban flavour. I've heard how impressed visors are about the Riverwalk & how well it's maintained , spotting the manatees & the famous aquarium. It looks like a ideal place to catch the sunset. Thanks like always for taking us along on your adventures , counting the smiles inspiring the world with your positivity. Hope you also had a great time hanging out at the rock 🎸 cafe & the food was bussin like they say in Florida. 3d time lucky 🤞 my comment doesn't get lost again , keep warm Marie , it's 🐿️ appreciation day , enjoy the gangwon Olympics ice skating if your watching. 💛🐊✨✌️

I am guessing she meant that water was warm when she said “not refreshing”. That’s one thing about the gulf coat, the water is much warmer than a the Atlantic Ocean. The reason is because the gulf is much shallower, so the water can be warmed up in the spring and summer. It’s cooler in the fall. Tampa also has a great aquarium. I don’t know if you got a chance to visit it, but it’s a nice visit. Yes, southern people are much more laid back and more hospitable compared to NY and other heavier populated areas up north. I was born and raised in Maryland, but moved to Florida in 1979 and found out that I was a southerner all along. I never fit in up north, I felt right at home in the south. I still have a lot of family in MD and even they seem too uptight and rushed. I’m where I belong. I married a third generation Floridian girl though and we just celebrated 25 years, but it seems like three years. She’s the greatest.

Lived in South Florida for 5 years. Never visited EPCOT or Walt Disney World. Always felt they were for families.

I'm a Florida native and currently work on Walt Disney World property, as well as all around Florida! My favorite beaches are along the Florida Gulf Coast- especially the Emerald Coast stretching along the panhandle. I'm so glad you had a wonderful time at my home away from home. ❤️😊

Ah Marie, im a little sad knowing how close you were from my home when you were at Siesta Key beach, i live just over 30 more miles south of there and would have loved to have met you. We visit that beach a few times a year just to experience that beautiful white sand, it has topped the list as best beach in America quite a few times and is always top 5. I will say that you wear Florida very well, your smiles and very apparent happiness was just so great to see. I love Tampa, it has so mush to offer for all ages. I think you would have really enjoyed Busch Gardens Tampa Bay also as its a combinstion amusement park and zoo. Im curious as to weather you crossed the Skyway Bridge when returning from Sarasota? It is a spectacular ride out and over the bay. I agree with you about the river walk area, i also really enjoy walking Bayshore Blvd. Im so happy you enjoyed your time her and that the heat was managable for you, you get to breathe a little that time of year because for 9 months it can be so very crowded. Cant wait for the next video.... ❤ from fla usa. Stay safe

I can only imagine what its like to go now....or watch your videos :) Used to go to Tampa / Clearwater Beach. Theres a special feeling an scent on the air there. Its stayed with me 40 years since. Might go back one day.

The sand at Siesta Key is unique. It feels like flour in your hands and doesn't get hot. The water in August is pretty warm, comfortable but not refreshing

I see the Gulf was extra clear for you to swim in. Sometimes it isn't so clear in storm season. But most times it is very nice. I thought you lost your heart to Arizona? Now you are losing it to Florida? LOL!!
