I think the people who don’t like this movie for a certain reason are forgetting and not realising the movie is called animal for that exact reason. I personally didn’t agree with the actions but it’s a film for god sake. The way ranbir is in the film is not acting human but like an animal. I personally felt it’s one of the best movies I’ve seen in ages. The music and how it was imbedded into the scenes was genius.

That was the whole point of the film. He does not react from intellect but from the impulse like animals do. When it comes to his family he will go to any lengths even if that meant going morally totally bankrupt. First half has shown him as a protective force. Second as a destructive force. And throughout he is spiralling downward in his nature and becoming animalistic. Even this song is his state of mind. He actually did fall for zoya. This movie is the best mainstream film of 2023 in india. It has complex characters. Everything have logic at the bottom apart from few action scenes where masala comes in. Its well acted, well scripted. It has raw unapologetic masculine humour aswell. I dont know why people were offended especially how the film was marketed.

@@lakhdeepgrewal I did like it in the theatre. And I went with the vibe. But it did have masala elements which was nowhere in the film. I loved the second half more. Because thats where you actually put together personality of Ranvijay Singh which is very intriguing. People did not understand this film. Those who criticised it only saw it superficially. See the story was not even the focus of the film. Character was. Here the story was catering to the character. It wasn't character that was catering to the story. It had logic as base for everything. Another stpid arguement that I heard was why police isn't there. I mean its literally established in the film that nothing could be tied to the main character. Because when he kils jija. He disposes off the bodies.and the hotel was literally his. He had control over the hotel and its security. He literally tells his sister. That he disposed of his body. Not just his but the guards aswell who were kild. And in interval block it is seen as an assassination attempt on Ranvijay singh and that too in Ranvijay 's hotel itself which was defended by Ranvijay and his security aka his cousins. So it was established that nothing could be tied to the main character. Even the College gun scene. The college was of his father. His father used his connections to save him. Thats why he literally says that if it wasn't for him he would be in jail. So it was established that nothing could be tied to Ranvijay. He was acting in self defence in his own hotel during interval block. Its very subtle film. It does not spoonfeed. People crying are the one who are use to spoonfeeding where an emotion or a situation has to be overexplained.

This was a survive attack which probably lasted for half hour. There would be no police. They'd be waiting for special forces, especially considering the magnitude of attack. Movie itself imply police is not there because nothing can be tied to the main character. You can't frame because of these reason. Its not creative liberty. Its literally solid reason. Any guy would get that. Its subtle. It does not spoonfeed. Especially his father had already faced an assassination attempt. People were just being dmb to ignore the subtle detailing in the film.

My issue with the film was instead of going for violence which the director promised, the film was more about proving a point that he doesn't give a damn about critics and intentionally kept scenes and dialogues that triggered them ..

I agree with you there, i didn't see the movie i thought i was going to see, that is what annoyed me, the rest i could see too what he was doing or trying to do, i wasn't bothered by it but i knew people would be, so much of the movie wasn't needed and if he had made it a violent movie and made Bobby's character have a more bigger and darker role and maybe even put some real emotion between father and son then it could have been awesome.

Nope thats your mindset. Because you guys missed the whole point of the film. Film is very consistent. And its a character driven film not storydriven. Story is catering to character, not character catering to story. Every scene was important to understand character. He is guy who will go to any lengths to protect his family especially after betrayal by his brother in law. He will go to any length. Even if he has to go morally bankrupt. In first half he is shown as a protective force. In second half he is shown as a destructive force. It has a lot of mental voilence aswell. Even this cheating scene was important to explain how his mentality is. He literally promised his wife that he will never cheat and ends up doing exactly that. It was to show how in his obsession to protect his family that he would stoop so low. He shown as a guy constantly spiralling downward. He has got consequence for everything. He lost his sense of hearing and touch. His wife leaves him. His father is going to dieeee eitherway. He is left with nothing but with pathetic need to validation. And this movie is not about child abuse. Its based on child negligence. Its the best film of 2023, if you are mature you will understand. He did not went after the critic. Its critic who doesn't even know how to criticise. All they could talk about is ideology. No music no direction no bgm. No action set peices no drama no screenplay. Its just pathetic. Like they came with that pathetic excuse. Why there was no police. Because nothing could be tied to him. For example in college, the college is of his father. Who pulls sone strings to save him. He literally says if it wasn't for him. He would be in jail. The jija kiling scene. He kils him in hotel that is owned by himself. And he has control over security. And on top of that he disposed those bodies of. Its literally shown in the film. He even tells his sister that he disposed of the body of her husband. So it was established, nothing could be tied to him. And interval block fight scene was seen as an assassination attempt on Ranvijay. That too in his own hotel. So he fights them off in his own hotel with his own security which is his own cousin. Again Police can't tie anything to him. There were so many subtle details throughout the film. But I guess stpd Indian audience is used to spoonfeeding they just missed the half film. Its very subtle. Everything in this film was inline with the main character.
