Someone asked me why Ranbir's face is not there (instead of Rifel)? My reply (not verbatim): A reverse dolly shot of Ranbir's character face in extreme anger walking really fast along with (or without) a camera move from him to shows rifel in his hand in a single shot, will also serves the purpose of the scene of communicating that Asli jalwa is his character as in the next shot he fired the rifle, but the hero prop of rifle is the hero of the shot as it is the rifel that makes him the real jalwa. as a woman, I'm probably gonna get a lot of confused reactions from saying this but, I kinda felt bad for Ranvijay actually. there are times in the movie I could relate to him, and in my life when I felt those things, I remember my family invalidating me and ignoring me completely and how that fuelled the desperate need to want to prove myself to them later on. I did something to protect my mon when she was in danger hoping that it would prove myself to her and I would get her attention and some sort of respect, but all i got was a massive scolding and beating because it's "not what a girl does, and had the aunties in the other colonies known that the person who did this was her daughter, she would be made fun of for having a "crazy, chudail" daughter. I never opened up about those things, and those feelings definitely have built up over time. Even in affecting my physical health, because you can lie and bluff, but your body doesn't lie. He was so obsessed with proving himself that he even put aside love that he deserves, which is something that his mother even says in the movie, that he needs love, but she's obviously silenced by her husband. For some reason, I could always relate as a human being to almost every character Ranbir has played so far, and this one has proven it again, despite him not even being a good guy, unlike in the other movies. I don't think he's really a misogynist, I notice that he doesn't really have much friends in the movie, especially female friends, and his family doesn't really seem to reach out to him or care much, and that does influence his loose tongued manner of talking to Geetanjali. The fact that his obsession with proving himself to his family is destroying him, not helping him, is something that should have been addressed earlier. Which is why it's good that she leaves him once and for all with the kids, because he did screw up. Big time. and he would have never realized until he lost her and she told him off in that scene in their room.
