The love for his father, the detailing in Ranvijay's character. the protective nature towards his sisters and his talent to bring the family together. The proactive n bold nature to go fight the enemies. I have watched Arjun Reddy 6times. Kabir Singh 2times. Animal I plan to watch 10times more because I love the movie so much it has so many layers. Ranvijay as a son, brother, husband, family unifier and emotionally intelligent person as multilayered protagonist. Kudos. The Sikh community is shown is both good and bad light, esp. the brother loyalty is in both lights. And the reason to convert or the religious depth along with inter-community/lang marriage. Hat's off to this guy's craft. This is why the movie is doing well, same repeated concepts and story points that have been crafted and presented brilliantly which is attracting the audience like bees to a queen bee. Yes, there are a couple of few extremes portrayed in the movie, but they are either justified in the context of the film or can be excused/dismissed as irrelevant scenes which do nothing for the film. However, anyone who loves cinema OR anyone familiar with film making process, one cannot miss the brilliant craftsmanship. Sadly, Film Companion (who I admire a lot) and some of the other detractors have took it personally and lost the plot.

We often talk about voicing your thoughts and opinions, and this guy just does that as routine and normally, how it should be with eveyone in any field. Animal is one of the finest films from Bollywood. People moan about the runtime but that is its biggest strength. The film has time to breathe and characters have more impact due to the extended runtime. The writing of this film is a masterclass in screenplay writing since every scene and every dialogue had meaning and context to it. This film single-handedly has the best action scene in any Bollywood film hands down. There's weight to this film and there are actual consequences to this film. Sandeep sir has not only directed this masterfully but has justified every single character. We need more gems like these.

Sandeep is probably the most honest director and person I have come across in the longest time and that extraordinary honesty is what has come through in his movie and that is what everyone in the audience has related to . I saw your Anupama interview and didn't watch Kabir Singh, mainly because I didn't believe in what you said in that interview - which is that a relationship is not complete unless you feel free to slap each other. And I didn't like how you called rajeev masand fat and sucharita an idiot. It was crude. You were unable to accept another pov. But I saw the trailer of animal and absolutely loved it. It was super cinematic. I went to watch Animal and I absolutely loved what you have done. It's new. The strangeness of what you have done is great. The screenplay, bgm and incredible imagination of various shots. Most of all it's really honest to who you are. The rawness is evident and isn't that what all art is ultimately about. The courage to be ruthlessly honest in a stylistic language that's utterly fresh and new. That's truly the hallmark of a great artist. I don't buy into some of your views of romance...I understand the possessiveness etc but it's a very selfish form of love. Irrespective of my views on the relationship, I could buy into a character like that existing. There were several moments of cinematic genius. I love anupama Chopra and Rahul Desai - I do think they see things most don't. And I believe you are being unfairly judged. And I am sorry I didn't watch kabir Singh based on that interview. I will watch it again. I am sorry you don't get your fair share of the press. I guess that's the problem with stuff that's edgy...everyone only sees the edge...not the entire sculpture.
