Hello ASL Heroes!!! Hey, I could really use your help. If you’ve enjoyed having access to an expert in ASL you can help me continue my work for you. A small monthly donation from you would instantly make a big difference here at the studio because teachers don’t earn much and I could use some help paying for server and domain hosting for Lifeprint.com. Right now you can help out a humble (not to mention kind, caring, generous, compassionate, helpful, friendly, fair, and hard-working) ASL teacher -- just go here and a few clicks later you too will be a true “ASL Hero!” www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=64QMBRBXQSV6G For more donation options, see: Lifeprint.com/donate Thanks! - Dr. Bill

I really like the comparison of similar signs (e.g. announce, finally, pah, famous, succeed, etc.). These really help to practice them together and focus on differences.

If group wolves called pack, ten pack camels called what? Carton~~ Geckos have no group name why? They stick together too easily, and start to "Clump" together.

I'm going to have to work on "success" and "famous." 🤔. I would definitely prefer "extinct" over "dead" for dinosaurs. I have number of dinosaur bones. They aren't dead or extinct...they are fossilized. Finger spell or sign "bone change rock"? 🤔

Do you think the sign for zebra (horse+strips) might be changed in the future? I learned that zebras are more closely related to donkeys than horses. Great Video!

I ask this respectfully and for self-awareness as I'm learning: I notice Cäsar looks away often, for a little bit, while signing; Is it considered rude or distracting? I understand if one is thinking and looks away, but how long is too long as I see you're trying to jump in to say something, hehe. Once again, I really do not mean any disrespect, I'm just wanting to learn.

Looking away while signing or while thinking of your next set of signs is a method of "holding the floor" -- or in other words "keeping the turn." In Cäsar's case she is often honestly striving to think of how to sign something or how she wants to respond. Also, Zoom just makes things so much more awkward since often we look at the other person's picture but the picture is not the same as the lens of the camera. In my case I often end up looking at the camera and trying to catch Cäsar's signing via my peripheral vision. I much prefer when I can teach "in person."

I'm glad Casar finally got the hair out of her face.
