Ranbir has always done more charming and witty roles, the guy next door, the famous kid in school type vibe. He's done a couple of emotionally intense roles. But this is him showing off his acting chops, while venturing into serious action for the very first time. For movie recommendations: Barfi - Charlie Chaplin esque comedy with some intense emotions (also has Priyanka Chopra in it who also does some really good acting in this movie) Tamasha - Relationship drama Wake up Sid - coming of age movie about finding purpose in life Rocket Singh - just a really good movie Rockstar - it's about him trying to be a rockstar idk what to tell you, has really good songs which kinda fits the theme There are other movies but these are a good place to start
