This is the first time I've seen this video since 1983. They used to play this video in regular rotation, then it just disappeared like so many other great videos of that time. The great thing about that era of music videos was we didn't care what the genre was. The novelty of music videos kept us glued to the TV set all day. I'd wait all day to see a RUSH, Motley Crue, or Judas Priest video. Whatever played in between was still enjoyed because the videos were fun and interesting. The genre didn't matter as much as the content.

Bravo, David Johansen. Eric Burdon was terrific, one of my favorite singers of the 60s. And here David does him absolute justice with his own voice. Plus, his moves are his own and spot on. I heard David a few times in DC in the 80s and he never failed to put on a brilliant show. Didn't care for the NY Dolls that much, and certainly not the fatuous Buster Poindexter. But here, David shows his musical power and soul.
