We had a pregnant hedghog collapse at our front door She was massive , weighing 2lbs So we let her have a conservatory room to herslef Set up a box , some leaves, paper , etc Hedgehog food and water 3 days later we went to release her in the woods after finally getting some advice However, i picked her up ro transfer her to a carrier ....she growled so loud 5 wee mini me hedghogs were feeding from her! It turned out she gave birth on the first night we found her ! Lucking ly we then found a nedgehog expert in nearby town ..who would help them adjust to a proper safer wildlife garden. She had an amazing garden with many hedgehogs already rehabilitating there Perfect for proud mum and her babies Finally they were all where they needed to be ...safe Never seen such adorable baby hedghogs By day 3 they were already brown and spikey.... Size of large walnuts ... Amazing.... Never forget it

Pygmy hedgehogs are impossibly cute. This is the first time I've seen them as babies. OMG. They seem quit delicate. It's probably best to handle them as little as possible.

The mama rolled over on her back with all of them nursing, looks like she’s literally having the life sucked out of her. 😂 She’s just like chillen but at the same time looks so over it. Adorable!

Aquainted with an animal rescue woman. When she said her new charges were tiny she wasn't kidding! 6 newborn hedgehogs! Turned in her 2 week notice yesterday, her dreams of a storefront shop have become a reality! She specializes in reptiles but is ready for other critters, too. So happy for her!

Next time she's giving birth maybe put something on the floor where she can grip onto bc she keeps trying to push and like grip onto the floor and she keeps sliding so it's making it hard for her. Gripping onto something gives you leverage to push. Been a few decades but I remember the bruises along my arms from gripping the raised bed sides to push. Like stripes up my arms.
