It wouldn't of. Due to coat of arms and then putting 8 other elves on the board, each elf, adding to the lords were at maybe 20/20 if not more. Blasphemous Act only would of worked if both red players had played it at same time.

Monogreen elves.... Be it Ezuri, Freyalise or Marwyn, the games always end up the same a massive board of elves hitting for 10+damage each or 3 forests and no cards in hand because of consecutive boardwipes

I play Creeping Rennaisance and Praetor's Counsel to account for that along with Genesis Wave and Primal Surge as backup plans

At 5:10, the fact that you didn’t attack an about to ult freyalise with your drake blows my mind. That’s the part of the game that sealed your fate. Also, the Kiki block was also something to learn from. Either way thanks for a great game of solitaire to watch!

Matt casting Swansong on Survival of the Fittest... not sure if he did out of spite, or because he'd rather die to Trevor's gigantic elves than die to a combo. Personally, I'd rather die to the combo. :P Also, I will repeat this time and time again... ADD. MORE. BOARD. WIPES! There were only THREE of them in your four decks COMBINED, two of which were in Matt's deck (the last one, ironically, was in Trevor's deck).

I agree with the sentiment, but there is also the element of needing to either draw the wipes or tutor for them. For all we know, Matt was going to Scroll for Cyc Rift but that was stopped. Also, board wipes in Animar is counterproductive to what the deck wants to do =(

I understand that, but even then, I'd rather have them just in case something goes horribly wrong. If you think Rift is too disgustingly OP, you could always run its budget version, River's Rebuke. ;)

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I do run Rift in Animar, just not things like Blasphemous Act.

@@MTGMuddstah Your decklist does not have rift. So maybe outdated. But still all 4 decks combined ran maybe 4-5 mass removal spells (I do not count Sudden Spoiling or Jest, most often it is just delaying by 1 turn). That will eventually lead to a race to combo.

Bro, you blocking with kiki jiki instead of creating a token then blocking and Niv'mizzet countering your survival of the fittest were pretty much what sealed the game for trevor IMO. Great game to watch, still. love your videos

I was always expecting the "Cyclonic Rift and Trevor concedes" at some point. Surprisingly, it didn't come.

Ironically, Cyclonic Rift coming from anyone but Muddstah near the endgame wouldn't even hurt Trevor that badly... everyone else but the caster would have to rebuild too, and guess which player had a hand full of low-cost elves and two copies of Gaea's Cradle on the board... In this particular scenario, River's Rebuke would've been the true savior: only Trevor would lose his board, and in this potential archenemy scenario, there's a good chance he'd be overwhelmed.

I could never be mad at Trevor. He is only acting according to his nature. I am glad you posted this video. The reality of games is that one player sometimes goes off and dominates. It was great to see it showcased here. Just shuffle up and move to the next game. I think people forget that these videos isolate a session spent together. I would assume that if he played the same deck in the next game, people would prioritize interaction to slow him down. Thanks again for the video!

I always look forward to your videos, Muddstah! :) Just a suggestion (that you didn't ask for LOL) - perhaps as you do the recap, throw in a couple of quotes from the players themselves on things they noticed about the game... their best plays, their worst choices, compliments on their opponents, etc. :) As I said, just an idea!

2:30 i guess you still have to shuffle the library even if you can't search. (not sure if the mini cut was for that) Edit: Also turns, with shadow of doubt, if it is "you may search ... then shuffle" you cant search and must not shuffle. And if it forces to search (no may) you just shuffle library.

But to add to this note in a confusing way, Aven Mindcensor's replacement effect still counts as searching your library for determining whether you should shuffle or not, even though the text implies otherwise.

Damn that betrayal was rough. Matt why you do this?? lol Very amusing game to say the least. I was in a similar situation to Trevor the other night in a 5 man game with my Atraxa Superfriends where I had achieved elspeth Knight-Errant's emblem and became public enemy number one and had to do everything in my power to stay alive while I fended off everyone. It was pretty crazy because they were casting a lot of draw spells to make me lose a bunch of life (There was a Nekusar player at the table with a Spiteful Visions in play) but eventually everyone coincided the game because my lifelink Vampire tokens (Thank you Sorin, Lord of Innistad) which were being pumped up by +1/+1 counters and multiple sorin emblems were able to stave off the damage and I was going to knock out the two blue players at the table who could have answered my board with a cyclonic rift. Which was really the only thing that could stop me at that point as I removed Nekusar and the Visions from the battlefield.

ELF BALL!!! Nicely done. Reminds me of my little brothers Selvala, explorer returned deck. Sad to see this wasn't my Niv Mizzet deck. I played a solid match against Muldrotha, Vanifar and Karador. Prime Speaker almost comboed off, Muldrotha did Graveyard things, so did the ghost chieftain. You can build this deck too for $45 if you just take out the Rhystic Studies. Love me some elves! Let this be a lesson play spot removal in your decks play board wipes! I hate hearing people whine about dying to something like this, he’s playing mono green he can’t really stop you from doing anything he just has to kill you faster. He has one answer in heroic intervention? Elves is a glass cannon that keeps people’s decks honest if your too greedy and don’t play cards you should like damnation or any black removal spell then you’ll get rolled. His elf deck isn’t even that mean there are many far away more nasty, I’ve seen elves win turn 1! His was very fair. Sorry for the rant I just see the comments and it annoyed me seeing the whining Muddstah was right he was wide open to be blown out and blue/red and blue/black couldn’t find answers because they played so so little of them.

Because Muddstah would have gotten Zealous Conscripts and won, so either way he would lose. Muddstah also kept attacking Matt at the beginning of the game.

Kiki-Jiki was already gone, so getting Conscripts wouldn't do much for him. I'm assuming he'd go for Ancestral Statue instead, which would let him dig/tutor for Purphoros and then win.
