How do you forget about it after all these games? Start a mental mantra as soon as you play it "do you pay? Do you pay? Do you pay?" Don't stop that mantra.

Concerning your comment at the end. Ways for lifelink in monoblue are pretty scarce but Loxodon Warhammer or Batterskull seems like the best options. They pump your commander damage considerably since the sliver and islandwalk helps with it connecting and are somewhat tutorable in blue. Another option would be Basilisk Collar. Love the show. Best wishes.
@isaachaahr86916 жыл бұрын
I started laughing when I saw it in play. Maybe switch it to mystic remora. Your are more likely to get cards from its trigger because people don't want to pay for and it goes away sooner due to cumulative upkeep.

@BangThatGong6 жыл бұрын
To remember my rhystic study triggers I used to put it in the middle of the table and then would rotate it around to each players board side slightly so whenever I looked at their board during their turn I would see it.
@garethsentry3 жыл бұрын
To be fair the trigger is automatic so even if you forget you should be able to draw the cards later if you remember since the onus is on the caster to pay for the trigger. If they don't pay you may draw a card, they didn't pay so you can draw.

@Arvensa5 жыл бұрын
I don't think I'd casually allow an Eldrazi Titan take out like 10 of my permanents without putting a clock on that player. Sure, Divine Visitation is scary, but you didn't have enough gas to take out three people with aggro after 1. Missing all the Study triggers, 2. Eating multiple Annihilator attacks, and 3. Not picking up Cyclonic Rift. The number of +1/+1 Lords in your deck looks like your 4th-biggest concern here, if it's even a problem.

Not really that many valid lifegain options in mono-blue. As a creature centric deck the best ones are likely the equipment ones Batterskull, Loxodon Warhammer and Umezawa's Jitte. For more casual on the side lifegain there is Pristine Talisman and Staff of Domination or as a defensive card Sun Droplet which is suprisingly effective, however that is a do nothing so I would rather go for some of the others. If you are crazy you could also go for Ivory Tower, Tower of Eons or Aetherflux Reservoir.
@hablasetacobell6 жыл бұрын
So, I'm not seeing any other comments on this so I wanted to point this out, but Yahenni should have been gigantic, as she/they have the phrase "Whenever a creature an opponent controls dies, put a +1/+1 counter on Yahenni".

It was a little puzzling why our narrator declined to eliminate him for a few turns in a row after getting Mana Drained/Worldbreakered early, and then used as Ulamog's punching bag.

I'm super happy that trevor guy dies first. Plays annoying ass eldrazi and has maybe the WORST Threat assessment I've ever seen. 2 annihilators attacks in a row at the mono blue lords instead of the guys getting 2 lands per turn or the divine visitation deck. Simply Amazing.
@Arvensa5 жыл бұрын
On the one hand, Mistform could have out-clocked him if he tried to slog through two other players first. On the other hand, Mistform elected not to retaliate or attempt to talk him out of it for multiple combats, getting flattened as a result....?
@DarkEinherjar6 жыл бұрын
People are saying Muddstah should drop Rhystic Study from the deck because he always forgets about the triggers... I disagree. On the contrary, he should be using it even more until he becomes good at remembering the triggers. When I first started using counterspells in my blue decks, I sucked at figuring out what to counter and what to let resolve and paid the price with defeat multiple times until I finally learned.

Hey MTG Muddstah great video. I really enjoy your content. The only problem is your attidude in getting better. You miss your Rhystic Study trigger really often. Getting a better magic player is not about the things you did wrong. Magic is a really hard game. Stop complaining about missing a trigger, be happy to remember one.
