Belles waist is realistic, more like it's how they used to do it in the past. They didn't use a corset to make their waist extremely small but rather illusions. If you take away belles skirt from her dress you'd realize her waist was actually reasonable. This was a major reason why skirts in the past was so huge. The bigger the skirt the smaller the waist looked. Dispite the myths and lies told nowadays, they did not do lace tightening....because the corset would break before that point. They would normally only have one or two corsets in their wardrobe and doing tight lacing (even a little bit) would wear down the corset and leading it to break down. Instead of relying on the corset to make their waist smaller they would use big skirts (like belles) and big sleeves (which if belles dress was more time period accurate it would have that). Almost all the waist in Disney princesses were normal, it just looked smaller because of the illusions. I mean look at belle in her normal clothing and you'd see that.
