thank you kindly sir, this was very helpful. if i may: there is a one click solution for orienting our object along the path, no need to do it manually. one can simply do layer/transform/auto-orient and it's done. unless it will be off by some fixed angle, in which case one can simply counterrotate the layer by that angle to point it in the tangent to the curve direction.

At 15:04 you don't have to add rotation at every points. Just select the fish layer than go to Layers - Transform and click on Auto Orient then turn it on "Along with path". Then adjust the fish at starting point and press Space bar to activate the preview. And you will see fish moves along with path. Thank You.

We can use "Orient Along Path" option instead of adding the rotation keyframe again and again. Just simply go to Layer>Transform>Auto-Orient>Orient Along Path.

BIG TIP: If your lines aren't curving like at 7:37 in the video, hit ALT as you click and drag. My vertex only curves if I'm holding down Alt

Dear Gareth, your tutorials are very clear and most helpful! I love learning with new things with you. I was hoping if you could help me please. I have an older version of After Effects and it does not alow me to convert a shape in to Bezier Path by clicking right mouse button on the Ellipse Path1. I have looked up online and found out that I need to press and hold Alt and draw a shape to create the Path. Eventually, I managed the Satellite to move around the elipse path, but it moves counterclockwise! Is there anything I can do to change this to clockwise rotation? Thank you!

I've been watching this course from episode 1. Amazing content! If I want to make the satellite go behind the Earth as it goes back and then come in front of it as it comes toward the screen, how would I do that? Right now, the satellite layer is above the Earth layer. Is there a way to dynamically change which layer is on top depending on where the playhead is?

I have a small problem in 22:29 min, when I try to copy path 1 *and i checked if I selected the both path 1* and ctr+v it in position it past smaller than the original eclipse I did! and I tried a lot and the same problem happen again and again, could you help me please!

I have a similar problem. When I paste the path into Position, it doesn't actually place the object on that existing path just like in the video, what it does instead is create a new path (that has the same size,shape etc just like the original one) but it's somewhere else on the composition panel, and it places the object on that path. Any ideas? Not sure what is going on...

At 8:20, when I selected the path it also insisted on selecting the shape. I had to ungroup the object from its path to continue as you were instructing...

Hey, I just wanted to let you know. When I downloaded the project file and clicked on the corresponding file for this video, there were a lot of missing files. For example, I wasn't able to see any of the fishes for one of the compositions. Is there any way I can fix that?

What if I want to change my satellite orbit without changing the satellite itself? Just wanna modify and rotate orbit. When I tried it in AE I had done all the changes to the orbit and copied its path to satellite position, but once it was applied - the position path was WITHOUT any changes I had made to my path before.

Thanks for the awesome videos❤! I'm following the steps to recreate the fish's moving path. However, after I copy the path following the steps, it changes position when I paste it. It's not aligning exactly as shown in your video. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

Once you've set the key frame to "easy ease", you can't change it back or change it to "easy out" or "easy in"? (without clicking "undo" hundred times)

If you press and hold Ctrl - PC or CMD on MAC and click the keyframe, you will notice it change shape, keep clicking it until it changes back to the diamond shape. That will reset the keyframe. Then you can then right-click and apply and new Ease to it.

Use the pen tool. Draw a line along the screen. Open the contents of the line in the timeline. Make the line have spaces in between using the dashed feature in the transform panel. Offset the line to a great extent n make the line along the whole video and make the offset transition at your desired speed. If u need any help here...comment, I will reply.
