I'm amazed at the amount of people liking 60 fps. Personally, I think it doesn't add anything other than work. 30 fps is my favorite here. Smooth, and justifies the jump from the previous fps. Definitely looks better when you purposefully make the animation 60 instead of autogenerating frames for it tho xD
@TheAudioVidsАй бұрын
Having said that, if you genuinely think 60 fps is adding something to your animation and you indeed love the work it involves, you should totally go ahead and do it!

I’m a sucker for odd framerates like 6 or 8. I usually try to keep it even since even numbers are kind of the basis of the universe, but like I just like the slower choppier stuff. It’s not bad. Even if I don’t feel like working out the logistics of making something move faster in 12fps without making it janky, I’ll just set it to 14 or 16 or something cause I’m lazy.

It would have been interesting to see your character move about the frame at 60fps. I've only ever done frame animations using Photoshop, which is effectively 12fps and things can look _very_ choppy at that frame rate.

The persistence of vision is too slow to watch 60fps. I can see the lines of the in-between frames, so it doesn't look smoother. If you have a sheet of black between each of 30 frames at 60fps that will make the liney-ness go away and make the whole thing smoother ymmv. I think Plimpton shot on 10's or 8's but they didn't move much until they did.

I think that even if it is better, the improvement doesn't justify the amount of extra time spent on it. But if it does look better and it's mostly tweened/automated (like 3d generally) then why not

It’s much better looking (most the time) but it take DAYS longer. In most 2d animation it usually take about 45 minutes-1 hour for 10 seconds, but in 60 fps it would take on average 2-3 1/2 hours for 10 seconds
@Fatih_M1772 ай бұрын
