For newbie’s that would be complicated 😅 just tell them to use Mocap if they have iPhones there are many tutorials here in KZbin on how to do that. I also use face Mocap in my animation.

As far as I can tell, the Avatary free version doesn’t allow importing previous Tracker AI files for new videos, meaning it’s necessary to manually track every single video. I hope I’m wrong, but if this is true, the Avatary free version is effectively just a demo of the paid software.

Yep thats true, the AI learning algorithm is only available in the paid version. The tracking still uses an AI algorithm but it doesn't learn the actor profiles like the paid version.

I am using Faceit addon and was wondering can you share your controller template? Another question how come when I import my retargetter file there is either no pose data (group data is empty) and when I add a frame pose all the numbers for the poses are red and I need to manually pose them for it to be green but I just want the data that Avatary tracked. I like majority of the tracking results in Avatary and don't want to repose them for it to turn green.

I'm not sure exactly I haven't looked into the pricing yet myself. It looks like you have to contact via their website to get a custom quote. I'll look into this further sometime soon.

Honnestly super great tool but the part of appending is completly broken. Been trying for hours and every times something is broken as hell. If they could just upgrade the addons to blender 4+..

I agree it would be perfect if they upgraded the retargeter to the new versions! But I've talked to Jelo the creator and he said there is no plans to update the blender retargeter unfortunately.

Hi, do you know if this works with blendshapes as well, or does the rig have to have bones/controls?

from what I've tested so far mate, avatary can only retarget bone information. a quick work around would be to just add a bunch of bones connected to your custom shape keys with drivers, and use them to pose the expressions in the avatary retargeter.

Its in the avatary software in the retargeting section. You will just have to install blender 2.93 first. Click on the blender 2.93 option and it will launch blender with a facegood tab now up the top.

Yes you can use any 3d models, as long as the face is rigged. When I purchased the thanos model it wasn't rigged but I used the Face-it blender add on to quickly rig the face for animation. Check out my video on rigging faces if you need help with that. 👍

No unfortunately the free version of avatary is not realtime however I'm pretty sure there is a realtime version for purchase.
