Animation Blending In Maya & UE4

Can you explain to me how you animate blend space in beetween walk and run! Do you just make animation who match points on certain keys (because i do not understand how the different engines evaluation and blended spaces) I think that is not only way to make for all engines (unity,unreal) but nothing else not even cross my mind! To have in and out blend space for run and walk my way 0 -5 idle 5 - 10 start walk 10 - 40 walk cycle 40 - 45 fin walk 45 - 50 start run 50 - 70 run cycle 70 - 75 fin run or i think your way 0 -10 idle 10 - 40 walk cycle 40 - 60 run cycle
