A film about the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God.
The hero runs away from the orphanage in order to find his mother. On the way to Smolensk, he meets a girl and her father, who are looking for the image of the miraculous icon of the Smolensk Mother of God. The boy learns the history of the icon. This meeting opens the child to a previously unknown spiritual world and changes his fate.
