I love how Sayori is so acurate. Most "depressed" characters I see are always EdgyTM and are super open about it. Sayori is bubbly and tries to keep everyone else happy, and doesn't really let on to her illness until Monika starts messing with her. Zach is still just playing the game, and Monika appearing in his room is just a visual representation of when she says his real name. Like when she is speaking directly to you and not your character. And Zach is back in his school clothes when this room starts flying up to space. So, no he didn't break his computer on the real world, I agree it was symbolizing his rejection of Monika and deleting her. The difference with my head canon is that scene is happening in Zach's imagination, not that Monika made a virtual city. That's just my take.

It was made simply, before some of the great tools out there were so available, and yet the syncing of lips and movements superb [better than an anime of its era had a right to be], and they use tricks like juxtaposition to create a romantic crush dynamic that as far as I know wasn't in the show at all, just POOF out of thin air. The only thing I think is better in the live-action version is this part: "Let's go read a story!" "What about [REDACTED]?" "Let's talk about _me_ instead!" In this version, Yuri heads offscreen and Monika just pops in out of nowhere, but in the live-action version, Yuri pulls Zach in, the scene glitches and Monika _replaces_ Yuri. I found it more ominous that way. Otherwise, this is a really well done animation!
