Like many commenters on here who are annoyed I avoided at first because I didn't want to hear what I knew would be true. Really great editing and style on this one! I will add that this helped me understand why I thought God's word wasn't true when I was younger as many televisions shows (not just amine/manga) show a very distorted view of heaven. By the time I reached adulthood I wasn't sure that heaven could even be good. Reading the Bible and submitting to God allowed God to break the power of these thoughts over me and replaced them with the truth in His word. I hope many will experience the freedom that is in Christ.

Its rather annoying that anime in a fictional setting seems to portray with hunting as bad and/or subverts the idea withes ( by extension witchcraft) as bad. I never seen an anime MC who played it straight who wholly rejects magic and hunts down sorcerers and witches who aren't "misunderstood" or are "just seeking knowledge" and to do so in the name of God and this portray as entirely good. This is just one example of stuff you won't see in anime. Though you will see how awful the Church and religious structures are. As somebody who got saved 2 years ago, this video HEAVILY convicted me. I was a HEAVY anime watcher and seeing this video shed a light on this stuff that I would've never caught. I thank God for pushing you all to create this documentary and I will definitely be buying the full documentary. Be encouraged because the Word of God said that you will be persecuted for His name sake, and after taking a look at the comment section, the right thing was done here. As a Christian I think this video is just overlooking all the nuance of these Anime. There is amazing stories of friendship and overcoming odds and growing as a person, so many underlying themes that are extremely nuanced. Not everything is Inherently evil nor does it try to be. People in different cultures make different stories from their influences. We as Christians don't have to turn everything into "is it evil or not" enjoy a story for a story. If your faith can be rattled by something like an Anime then you obviously had some weak faith or you are just so fragile minded in your own self that outside influence can change you. Just enjoy a good story for a good story, or don't it's not a big deal. But telling everyone this stuff is evil just dies a disservice in my opinion and is a extremely narrow and black and white view. Just thought I'd say that, from a devout Christian myself, I just dont agree with this at all and still adore and enjoy Anime to this day. It has not shaken me. May God be with you. Take care

No hate or anything, just wanted to explain. Just because someone sings Christian music or old hymns does not make them a Christian. A person doesn't come a Christian through actions such singing or doing good deeds, but through the blood of Christ. Faith in God and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior and Living for Him is what makes you a Christian (John 14:6). As followers of Christ, we are also called to go out into the world and preach & to explain to those who don't know Him, those who don't understand, and to those that want to know more about Him (Mark 16:15). That is what LLS is doing, they're showing what satan is doing without you even knowing it. Satan can manipulate and suggest to one to do sinful things, things so small as putting a mark on an anime character's head or even just a sentence they say. And these things can be so much more damaging then most would think because it influences us whether we know it or not. And one more thing I want to point out is LLS doesn't just talk about the Biblical perspective of it but the fact that children's anime is highly inappropriate and contains sex scenes but also pedophilia. I'm pretty sure our kids being groomed to think pedophilia is ok is VERY BAD. Parents need to pay more attention to what their kids are being exposed to especially anime's like these.

Hey I’m a Christian, and although Anime doesn’t appeal to me because I grew out of it, there’s a lot of good themes and amazing relatable characters in anime. While there are demonic elements in many anime, don’t let it be the primary reason you hate anime. Acknowledge it, Discern and watch with the side eye. If the demonic elements bother you too much, don’t watch it. It’s natural for Christians to be disgusted by satanic elements. LLS Made some good points about how there are demonic elements in the show. However, even God uses evil to work for good. Think about how many people use or relate to anime just to get through tough times, or how it might help them grow as a person. Anime helped me get through high school, and gave me a ton of insights, wisdom, laughs, and more. And I appreciate God for that because I wouldn’t be who I am today without it. Just remember that God is watching over everyone and that everyone’s stories are different. There’s nothing wrong with watching anime, just be mindful that there are satanic elements in the mix of some masterpieces, so be careful with what you put in front of your eyes. I think there's nothing wrong with imagery as long as it's not glorified or it's fictitious. For example, games like The Legend of Zelda take clear inspiration from ancient civilization to create its own imagery and ancient civilization-looking universe, but that's all there is to it, looks or "feels", it's not a direct copy of old religions, amd of it were, there would still be added fiction into those stories. FullMetal Alchemist and Inuyasha were my most watched animes growing up too. I'm shocked at what I subjected my young mind to !! Full Metal and Inuyasha are both showcased in the full DVD - its only $30- which means they charged less than $10/part and they gave us the first part for free.. so that isn't a bad deal. Its worth it I promise. (This is not an attack on this channel or its creative team) For the creators behind this video, I'd like to hear your thoughts on Osamu Tezuka's "In the Beginning," animated Bible stories. Is anime only bad if it doesn't glorify God? And as for the suggestive themes and violence, would the Bible not also be subject to that? Sunday School classes for kids don't teach about Sodom and Gomorrah, they teach about Noah's Ark and Jonah's Ocean Misadventures. These are just things to meditate on. I'm a protestant Christian who grew up with these VHS tapes from the late 90s, where they took Sunday School lessons and brought them to visual creative life. I'm no stranger to the spiritual warfare consistently brought up by Pentecostal, Baptist and other zealous sects of Christianity. Anime, just like alcohol and other vices, can be a stumbling block for people when consumed without moderation or self control. Its not for everyone and thats okay. A lot of people will get butthurt because they make anime a personality (cringe). But trying to dunk on anime as a whole is the same argument as dunking on any pop culture. It'll always fall out of line with biblical doctrine because that's how it's described in the Bible. I just think it's okay to be a Christian and like anime. Yeah, there's discomfort when blasphemous content is on a screen. Yeah, it's kind of cringe whenever biblical symbolism or themes are misrepresented in anime. But still, we use worldly multimedia for good (the same way you guys use KZbin as a platform for testimony.) And MAJOR props to the editor for the intro. That was sick.

I agree! I think some things in the documentary were a bit overlooked, and had some good points. But anime doesn’t really make you believe in other things unless you believe in things so fragile. While yes, anime does do things that does misrepresent Christianity, ofc there will be discomfort since it’s wrong. But anime can still emit a good message about things, even some dark anime’s can . But I think it’s just being all about being careful. But I think there was something’s in the video that didn’t make sense, an example would be that seeing Frieza representing Jesus, which I don’t know how they see him representing him. And anime characters I’m pretty sure don’t make the viewer change their beliefs about God.

I don't understand how people become obsessed with anime specifically. It's just Japanese cartoons. I enjoy some anime but I'm not obsessed with all anime like everyone else. Just because something is made in a specific style does not make it the same as everything else. And, I've noticed you guys have realized that which is great!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, but just to clarify they didn’t group those concepts as the same category in the context of consent. What they meant was the Bible clearly condemns sexual immorality no matter what the age gap or gender they involve. God punishes these things for their unnatural nature, and will exact a stricter sentence to those who expose these acts to young children. Jesus Himself said that it would be better for whoever offends one of these little ones to have a millstone tied around his neck and cast into the sea.
