I have to say I'm pretty impressed that he caught onto the contrasting philosophies(mentioned around end of Jade trailer). You're right that philosophy is pretty important for a lot of characters and the story, even when it doesn't seem like it. The degrees of subtlety differ, but the general story of Honkai series is about humans rising up to be their better selves and even working to the same goals even as they feel differently about how
