Yuta was the original protagonist for the manga. The original got scrapped I think and it was redone with Yuji as the protagonist. Gege being the beast he is still tied the 2 stories together.

Even with the "Gojo is the main character'' memes, at least Megumi has the cursed technique that was used to kill someone on Gojo's level and has the potential to match Gojo. Yuji feels like when you create your custom character in an RPG.

jujutsu kaisen was pitched as a short 4 chapter manga, it was not scrapped. Because people loved it they (shonen jump) wanted Gege to make it as a weekly series. Gege realized that writing a long series with Yuuta as the protag was not possible, so he made them grade up to the next grade and created Yuuji Nobara and Megumi. But some concepts was probably not in Gege's mind (like domain expansions) so that is why they are not in the JJK 0, Gege likely made them when writing the current series

i think that them putting the movie after the first season was a good idea because the first season explained a lot about the world and how cursed energy works, while the movie couldn’t delve much into it because it needed to fit a certain runtime

​@@zekmannYes, but it was supposed to be a one shot, so they basically don't explain anything, while in the movie they even added the black flash to retcon the outdated volume zero, if you watched the first season, then you'll know what it is and why it's important, otherwise you'll simply think that it's something that they put to make the fight more visually appealing, but the order for the anime definitely requires you to watch the first season first, then you can choose to watch either the first five episodes of season two or the movie first, then the rest of season two.

Fun fact is that in CC, it says "while Rika-chan is distracting the curses." but in Japanese, it's actually saying "while curse is distracting Rika-chan" Yuta said this because he thinks that Rika-chan is far more dangerous than normal curses. But unfortunately the person who made this CC didn't get that.

It goes to show how horrible Rika's life was that the time she spent as a curse after dying was happier than her time alive because she got to be with Yuta, someone that actually cared for her. The manga character notes on Rika even tell us that she had to 'steal' her own dead mother's wedding ring to give to Yuta, because her grandmother had taken it.

there's i think 4? special grade sorcerers and Yuuta is one of them. I think its Gojo, Geto, Yuuta and the blond lady we meet in ep 5 of season 2 who they said she's a special grade but doesn't do missions (sorry i dont remember her name). I'm not sure if there are 4 or 5, but these are the ones i can remember at the moment. So Yuuta is definitely impressive because he's already one of the few special grades and in the JJK Season 1 timeline he's been a sorcerer for only one year and was already going on solo missions. Like he's only a second year, its crazy.

I'm Japanese, and this is a well-known speculation among Japanese fans, but it is said that the cursed spirit that Toji was carrying was the cursed spirit of a baby that died from accidental ingestion. This is because Toji can put anything, including weapons, in and out of his mouth. Also, when that appeared in front of Geto in jjk2, he said, "Mom, hug me.” and do you know why Marvel movies are not as popular in Japan as they are in other countries? Because of anime. In Japan, when Stranger Things was #1 worldwide on Netflix, Spy Family was #1 in Japan. Anyway, you guys should watch more other anime productions.

The movie was a 10 out of 10 but I read Irino Miyu Haku's VA from spirited away) voicing Yuta Okkostu, it was appointed his voice for Yuta, I was insanely hyped for him being Yuta then THEN MAPPA CHANGED IT TO SHINJI’S (I’m not mad at Megumi Ogata, I love her, one of the best VA’s in the industry) BUT I EXPECTED IRINO TO VOICE YUTAAAA, OR MAYBE SOMEONE LIKE YUKI KAJI (Eren Jeager’s VA) BUT MAPPA CHANGED IT all because the creator for Yuta was inspired by Shinji, also even this Irino has worked with Gojo’s VA. it was perfect, all planned out (again I love Megumi Ogata.)

I know this was 3 months ago but i'm here to clarify this and give an answer. his words were actually added to the opening song of premature death arc. Ao no Sumika. as it is written in Gojo's point of view, he says "The words that curse you are stuck in the back of my throat. 'will we meet again?'" which signifies that that's indeed what Gojo wanted to say. but in order not to curse him, he says it in a way that doesn't curse him, which ends up being "we will meet again." that's gojo's last words to geto.

If you haven't figured it out by now, Yuta is a " copy " type user. With Rika as a endless fountain of cursed energy he can copy and use any technique by using her. The energy also makes him insanely fast and strong. Yuta is ranked number 2 under Gojo as the strongest with alot of room to grow learn how to use Rika.
