AH! Amazing haul, I always enjoy hearing how you collect everything and how your collection is evolving. I feel like I'm getting way more DVD boxsets while you are clearing yours lol (and smartly may I add, having the space is nice) I love your tangent by the way, no need to apologize, it's a topic I've been thinking about lately, and really could have a whole video about being on the collecting end of things LOL I'm intrigued by this ebay seller with out of print titles, I actually had to pause your video to go have a look. I must say, it's especially interesting since the discotekmedia ebay page doesn't seem to have any listings right now (but did earlier this year). How curious. For whatever reason, I never felt compelled to get Acrobunch, but with it going out of print a lot of people have said it's worth it though so I think you made the right choice getting it in the end : ) Ahhhh you got Cobra, which I've been meaning to get all year but kept picking up other titles instead! (looking at you Crusher Joe) At some point I need that classic series since I have the newer sentai one. I would feel better about having and seeing both ^^ If I get that cobra movie with a slip cover I'll send the slip to you ^^ AHHH also Urusei Yatsera! I can't decide if I should get into collecting these movies and the series (head drops onto keyboard with a thud) it's amazing how much anime we are getting but my budget can't handle all of it! (Lupin is out here strangling my wallet as is!) I need to decide soon ^^;;;; If someone told me years ago other people were into sasuraiger the same way I was into it, I wouldn't believe it. And yet here we are! yay! I was so pumped when they announced it, I was so happy, and even more so that I pre-ordered my copy. (Jules Verne is one of my favorite authors, highly rec The Carpathian Castle for spooky season) Fun fact, when I was younger, and after seeing GE 999, I assumed there was a ton of space train anime (like it was a genre or something???) which is the only reason I searched, found, and saw any of these episodes AHAHA. I'm looking forward to diving into the full series and with proper subs too ^^ and I agree, I love the style of the Sasuraiger mech itself, it's so classic toy line to me ^^ I have no idea what to think of Orguss, I've mostly just heard people talk about the opening theme (which indeed, rules, no questions there). I keep going back and forth on whether or not I should buy it lol. Perhaps I should, just in case it goes OOP but so many other titles are competing for my attention (my next couple of DVD hauls are going to be such a mess of things, I'll tell you what lol). I don't know anything about Govarian but that inner art is killer! I love it ^^ Love the dvd set for cats eye, I waited WAY too long and missed out on it, but at least we have the blurays now ^^ Oh you do have a misprinted dorvack, how odd, my stupid collector mind is like "wonder if that will make it worth more in the future..." I have sort of flipped a switch on DVDs recently tbh. I've wanted to expand my shelving for ages since I have alot of wall space but I also don't really like the idea of the collection taking over in that way. It already takes up 4 billy bookcases and a cupboard space. So anywhere I can save space I'm trying right now, also the sales are funding the insane discotek purchases I've made over the last few months so it's all reinvested. One day when I can stop purchasing I'd really like to work on presenting the collection in a nicer way :) I'm pretty sure Discotek are running it and I suppose in some way that charging 'collector' prices means collectors will ultimately be the one's to get them. Only people who really want the title will spend that much and with only a few copies left I can understand it to some degree. They used to do the same thing even on their main ebay page, I recall Mad Bull 34 being sold by them for as much as $60 once upon a time. It's a bit weird though I think. The completionist bug strikes lol. I find it really hard to have any part of a 'franchise' and not follow that up with eventually collecting it all, for better and sometimes worse. In this case I think i'm safe that Cobra should be a fun series overall. Apparently I was wrong about the slipcover, for Cobra they only changed the artwork so the logo matched the TV release and the Sentai release. Thanks anyway :D I deliberately decided to collect the Urusei Yatsura Movies as and when they come out so not to be in the position of having a bunch to collect. I learnt that lesson with Lupin III so I try to make sure that when I decide to collect a series that I make sure to pre order each one. Much easier that way, though it can make budgeting difficult when Discotek have many franchises going at once. Having Lupin, UY and City Hunter to collect over the last year was brutal at times but I managed it. I remember watching that 80's mecha opening compilation and just getting so excited when the train noises started for much the same reasons lol. I'm actually surprised there aren't more just plain train anime in general given how popular they are in Japan. I guess the crossover for train enthusiasts and Anime fans isn't that large. The other title I know of which I'm sure you do too is Brave Express Might Gaine which has the call concept of all the robots combining into a train lol. Assuming Discotek don't give up on Mech shows someday I hope we get the Brave series, maybe even Sunrise themselves might do it through Right Stuf. Orguss is a TMS Entertainment title and is probably the most famous mech show of the decade behind Gundam and Macross so it should be in print for awhile yet. It is standard of the era in terms of episode by episode format BUT it's setup is really interesting. Also it has that old dub which is a nice bonus, even if incomplete. I definitely recommend giving it try. It's coming to HIDIVE soon I think. Definitely determined to find an Art Book one day full of illustrations just like that for Govarian. I might even ask Brady Hartl on twitter for the source sometime. Though in my searching I've found some really cool ones that don't have that series in them so there is that at least lol. Cats Eye is a really great show. The Blu Rays will finish coming out in November so keep an eye on eBay and you might find a deal to be had on the DVD set. I was disappointed by the Dorvack misprint, I seem quite unlucky when it comes to that and Discotek titles but ultimately owning the show is all that matters. It's funny I mentioned in this video that I felt I was still fatigued on Mecha after Victory Gundam but after editing this video I'm all ready to jump into another show haha. @@BlaizeV The fight for space is a never ending one, that's for sure! I'm glad you are tightening up your collection and getting it exactly how you want it ^^ It feels good, especially when you can upgrade certain series. I had an opposite switch, because for a long time I wasn't collecting any Dvds and now I've fallen in love with them all over again. I'm trying to hunt down favs, and long time wants. Dangerous because I keep finding some great deals along the way that I can't resist ^^; I'm still deciding about Urusei Yatsura, originally I was going to skip it, but now the more I think about it the more likely I'm going to collect it. Same thing happened with the Lupin Blu rays dammit XD but ahhh that's what makes it fun ^^ (Ultimately I'm happier when I own something I've been thinking about than when I don't have it at all) Oh wow, you just lit up so many memories for me because I do know Brave Express Might Gaine LOL Can't remember the last time I even saw anything about that one, and yes if discotek ever puts it out I will be stoked ^^ I hope that happens, I feel like I've been getting a lot of what i want lately. Anime times are strange but also very good ^^ I'm glad the mecha enthusiasm is still strong : D thanks again Blaize ^^

Awesome haul Blaize, lots of great classic series. I've always wanted to check out Space Adventure Cobra. Looks like series I would totally enjoy. That Cats eye box set looks great. I still love those big boxsets lol.

I love big box sets too but I'm fortunate to have a load already from collecting for so long. So I now need to be more picky about what takes up more space than needed. Trying to narrow down big sets for only my absolute favourites, which is how it should be really.

I still have the Cobra DVD set. I've been hesitant to buy the bluray version just for the new English dub episodes. I still need to grab Mazinger Z & Great Mazinger from Discotek.

So far none of the Toei Giant Robot shows from Discotek have gone OOP so you'll probably good but still might be worth doing sooner rather than later. I think there is definitely a chance that Mazinger Z will get an SD-BD in the near future as it was a hefty DVD set (Gaiking and Devilman are both getting that treatment). I actually picked up all of the Mazinger stuff over the last month I didn't have so fortunately I'm up to date now. The Great Mazinger and God Mazinger sets in terms of video quality are really nice.

I do find it strange with discotek how a lot of classic mech animes are going oop randomly and so quickly. I’ll definitely be picking a lot of those titles next month since I just started a new job. @@BlaizeV hey update yesterday I was able to buy a huge discotek anime haul including 1.galactic gale baxingar 2.machine robo revenge of cronos 3.super dimension orguss 4.combattler v 5. ninja robots tobikage 6.powered armor dorvack 7. video warrior Laserion 8.Kekkaishi Only titles I have left to buy in the future are the other two j9 titles galaxy cyclone braiger and galactic whirlwind sasuraiger but I was fortunate to buy most of the discotek titles I needed so far 😊

Is it bad that I hope you don't like Acro Bunch, because I don't want to pay a lot of money for it? :P I love what I saw of Sasuraiger! I need to finish it. I also own the Space Adventure Cobra DVDs from Nozomi. It's a really nice boxset. I can't help but love chipboard artboxes. We don't get them as often as I'd like.

lol no I totally get that mindset. Though I'm fairly confident I will enjoy it. The whole J9 trilogy just exudes a fun vibe, if that will bear fruit across all 3 shows only time will tell but I'm really hopeful. Sasuraiger has a weird amount pressure on it personally because of my history with it. I just want to like it at least enough to give it a 7/10. I'm sure I will. I've fallen away from big box limited editions for the most part but I do love all my old Chipboard artbox sets. I think the weight of them makes even the lesser of shows have a sort of gravitas to them that they wouldn't otherwise. I really want to do some more deep dives of some of the ones I have just to celebrate them so much as anything haha

Would love for that to happen, especially if they could unearth a beautiful film print from the vault. I was able to get the collection a couple of years ago quite cheap on ebay and now having seen it certainly deserves to be in print again after all this time.

Please please please, Blaize, whatever you do, under NO circumstances watch Urusei Yatsura dubbed!...The original Japanese dub is probably the best voice acting achievement...like...ever. Seriously, don't ruin the experience and stick to the original audio track 🙂
