Box cutters are overrated ... I use a kitchen knife too. After you cut the tape on a figure box you can slide the back flat of the knife under the lid against the little tongue flap (don't know what else to call it) to disengage the lid without accidentally bending or ripping part of the box.

Do you have any advice on where to buy vocaloid merch? I was able to get a cute shirt and some stickers from amazon, but besides that there isn’t much. I’ve looked on red bubble aswell, and while there is quite a bit there’s several vocaloids I can’t find much on.

There’s definitely going to be a lot of resources that go into more detail so I’d suggest that you check those out but a simple way is to buy on websites where everything is authentic like AmiAmi, Tokyo Otaku Mode, Solaris Japan etc.. if you can’t tell if things are authentic or not then investing some of your time into researching proper prices and such will go a long way
