One Punch Man is just a tragic story of someone suffering from success lmaoo

Omg yes, success really does have its price! Guess even superheroes have their existential crises 😅

It's worse. It's not much of a spoiler, just confirmation of the obvious, but Saitama's power works like this: He's capped at super-strength/speed when he's just derp-faced and chilling. But if he feels... *_anything,_* his power starts growing exponentially. Anything from excitement, to sorrow, to mild annoyance. So when a fight gets good, Saitama auto-scales to one-punch it. He will increase in power until he gets bored, then finish it. He wanted to be strong, to have exciting fights. But his strength works in a way to prevent him from ever achieving his dream. His entire existence is a catch-22.

17:12 Love the cactus being a metaphor for Saitama himself...no one can touch him, and no one can touch a cactus without getting hurt

Love that ending. The subterranean creatures have killed off most of humanity and he's fighting for his life, then he wakes up and is DISAPPOINTED that it was only a dream. lol What would be an apocalyptic nightmare to anyone else is a wonderful dream to him.

Too bad "s2" completely crapped on the manga and destroyed Saitama.(and many other things, but destroying Saitama as a character gotta be the worst)

The giant killed his brother by hitting the wrong shoulder where his brother was, after that he attacked Saitama.

4:51 » i guess they based the character from "Chapulín Colorado" (a quite old mexican show that is also* beloved here in Brazil)

Good choice for a first show together. Most people start with Attack On Titan, because it really is an awesome story, with awesome production value, music and everything is top notch. But its a bit heavier than this. OPM is a good fun light and short one to start with. At least the anime. We waiting on season 3 atm. xD

It will be interesting to see your opinion of this series as it progresses. The show occasionally indirectly references other popular anime providing a second layer of enjoyment for those in the know. I'm curious to see what you'll think of it without that foundation. On a sidenote, if you're looking to add another show to your watchlist you might consider Spy x Family. It's very approachable and it makes for good reaction content.
@OathofLight15 күн бұрын
Agreed - it's very much a commentary on anime in general, full of references. Like, say, Shawn of the Dead for zombie movies, or Galaxy Quest for Star Trek. So yes, that's a great question: does it stand on its own?
@AnimeNewbies14 күн бұрын
Wow, this makes me even more excited to continue the series! We might not catch all the anime references, but we'll share our honest thoughts as I go. And thank you for suggesting Spy x Family-it sounds like a perfect addition to the list!
@AnimeNewbies14 күн бұрын
I love that comparison! Even though I might not catch the references, I’m curious to see if the humor and story still resonate as strongly on their own.

Smile man It is similar to the chapulin colorado (red grasshopper), a character of Mexican origin, very famous in Latin America.

One writes wonderful stories of exceptional people struggling to make connections with the people in their lives. Saitama befriends some of his world's mightiest heroes, and the Greatest Hero in All of Anime: Mumen Rider. Mob makes friends with amazing people who are also espers, the weirdos in his school's occult club, the weightlifting club, a perverse spirit, and his exploitative charlatannof a boss. And i don't even know how to describe the 2 loser hackers-cum-comrades in his newest manga. I only know that it's more than worth the wait. Y'all should definitely check out MOB PSYCHO 100.

OPM pulls references from a lot of other anime/manga so to see someone without even peripheral knowledge of those react to this is a bit unique. I feel like a research team somewhere should be taking notes😅 Anyway, heres hoping you enjoy it regardless!

Hi! I know the ahem...purists? Will disagree, but It would be easier for you to react, and for the audience to see your reactions if we didnt all have to read subtitles! Otherwise nice job.
