My take on how Eren gets so mad at Mikasa trying to protect him all the time is that it makes him feel weak. And that feeling reminds him of how we was too weak to save his mother. Eren equates feeling weak with being unable to save his loved ones (including Mikasa). He may think that Mikasa feels the need to protect him because she views him as being unable to protect anyone. The whole time they were training he felt like he had to prove himself and I think it probably frustrates him that he feels like he has to prove himself to Mikasa as well. It doesn't necessarily excuse his behaviour, but it helps me understand it. All of his goals for the future involve strength in some way, so the idea of being or feeling weak shakes his sense of identity. Anyhow, that's my two cents! lol. Really enjoying your reactions to this show! ❤
