i study music theory! montero follows a "guideline" per say, where it's like a formula on how to make a badass and catchy song. 2wei and anime op designers also tend to follow this "formula." it strikes a balance of bass, percussion, melody, and a cool message through lyrics. but most importantly? timing, or as i affectionately call "stepping." the timing of parts of the song is also part of the "formula" on how to make such a great song, which is why a lot of songs like montero are perfect for overlaying, the "equation" used in the original song and montero are pretty much the same!
