I had the same emotional reaction as you've just had, I had no idea what the lyrics meant but the emotion in the vocal made the tears flow. I wasn't even watching the video, just listening to the audio! Problem for me was that I was driving home from a New Years party at the time, and had to stop in the motorway emergency lane (illegal in the UK!) to regain my composure and wipe my eyes. Much as I love Chisa's and Hinata's vocals, it is Juria's that hits me the hardest.

This is a classic IU song and one of the best solo Vox tracks and also one of the best covers of an IU song and Dear Name. Another top IU cover would be Mayfly’s Love Poem on Kingdom where they formed a “Superteam” for the show featuring the vocalists from Ateez, Stray Kids and BTOB. One of the best vocal performances of an iconic song ever. But back to Juria. If you listen to the various IU versions Juria did it respectfully and wonderfully for a very difficult song. Also at the filming Hinata was there to support Juria and Juria’a rendition made Hinata cry.

@ Omg yes you have to watch the documentary but make some time for it. It’s 8 episodes, most are about an hour long but the first couple are shorter. There is an introductory episode called xx which is only 10 minutes. But be warned you WILL need tissues!!! 😊

There's a struggle whenever a reaction to XG VOX #3 이름에게 Dear Name [2022-10-06] posts. A struggle because not everyone appreciates having their heart handed them. Some reactors can't feel it. But, from their earlier reactions, BB-sama seemed just the sort of human who'd be open to this. They didn't disappoint. They "heard" the message well before the devastating end. Everyone close to their heartbeats feels need to cry somewhere within the performance. In the song -- to a reading of the noodles within and between the lines of the english "translation"-- the singer sings to her younger self. The singer waits, will wait forever, telling younger her to come, be here, now. Because it all comes true, despite how hard and impossible it seems to her back then. After the shortest, sweetest, softest, truest 4-1/2 minutes in history, JURIA belts, pretty sure, the particle "I am" and just everything stops. It's painfully-beautiful to listen to JURIA reach into her past like that. Probably, JURIA, being younger and closer to her earlier self than IU was, brings more raw emotion into the piece. Although, going under her stage name, IU probably calls to an actual other name, Lee Ji-eun, her younger self. ASIDE: XG brought this ignorant westerner many gifts; IU was one. Another was Utada Hikaru. That was JURIA's singing, again, but Japanese, in VOX 5 X GLEE CLUB. There, again, JURIA surpassed the original. If all the members of ex-XG (now hush y'all: it comes as surely as Dear Name's future dawn) grow into what IU and Utada Hikaru have, there will be even more pride for them.
