We start in Solaris by bringing in all of the assets, and layering everything together. All the assets, including the buildings, layout and character, will be provided in the downloads.
Assets are in USD format, with all materials and settings already applied, to ensure a fast and smooth process setting up the scene.
Simulations
First we’re going to simulate the cloth, using vellum. Here we’ll discuss best practices when it comes to simulating fast moving objects.
Then we’ll create the first layer of particles that will act as a wind force that’s around the character. We’ll use various pyro and pop simulations techniques to achieve this effect.
For the second layer we’ll use similar techniques to create particles that are trailing directly off the character.
We’ll also create dust kick back when the character steps on the ground.
Solaris
After we have all our FX, we can go back in Solaris and start rendering. We’ll render the city, atmospheric fog, particles & dust all as individual layers.
In this section we talk about fog, lights, materials, render settings, and generally a lot of things that you need to be aware of when rendering in Solaris.
In case you don’t want to spend time rendering, I’ve included all the renders that I used, so you can jump directly into compositing.
Compositing
We start by splitting up the AOVs and recreating the beauty pass.
I’ll show you different ways that you can dramatically change the entire shot by adjusting the light passes.
Then we’ll layer the atmospheric fog that we setup in Houdini, but
also create additional volumes and godrays directly in Nuke, to emphasis our lighting even more.
Finally we layer our particle FX on top. We’ll do a lot of grading, add displacements and glow, and after some final post processing fx, we complete the comp.
Downloads
You will have all the geometry required included with the downloads. Everything else that I couldn’t include (like megascans texture) you will be able to find by using the links provided in the links.
The download archive also include the completed Houdini project file (ver. 20) and completed Nuke script (ver. 15)
All renders also included.

Definitely yes, I would also encourage you to first explore some introductory courses from Stephen Knipping www.appliedhoudini.com/ I would say you need at least 3 good months of learning Houdini for this Anime course

As always your amazing, ok i think it's stupid question, but seriously man how did you learn all that ?! i complet 4 of your courses and every one i saw it 2 or 3 times but after one week i forget almost 60% is there any technique to learn without forget ?

@@4Mohd Don't worry about forgetting stuff. When I was still in my early Houdini days, I would have to rewatch tutorials and read documentation sometimes 10 times on one thing, to fully understand it.

Actually I commented on one of your posts but it was deleted by Instagram. What do you think of generative Al? Will it really hugely impact the industry in future? Because I'm learning Houdini, already it's pain in the ass (very difficult) on top if gen Al is taking over then I'm *ucked because I'm having fun in learning Houdini but what will be the point to learn a difficult software if there is no future ? Already Sora AI is creating breathtaking videos (at least/unless they're showing/faking it) please reply and sorry for the long message I'm really concerned 😔

I wouldn't worry about it. Houdini artists especially work in studios as part of a team and they know the granular level of control you need in order to deliver shots. AI might be used to create some quick concepts or previz and that's about it. Until you can tell it to change that 1 out of 3 million particles it's useless. There's a big pushback on AI recently because even if AI could do everything, the data it's training on is not legally licensed lol. Studios risk major lawsuits by using it. A lot of companies and studios last year started to fire people thinking AI could replace them, only to hire them back a few months later lmao. Learn Houdini brother
