Autodesk will become a joke. Unless they do something breathtaking with their sculpting (mudbox), fx (bifrost), viewport rendering (MaterialX ?) and optimization.
@FullGardenStudent Жыл бұрын
@@AyushBakshi will become? I believe it already is a joke. Companies that incorporated autodesk in their pipeline would prefer to make in-house tools and stick to autodesk instead of completely replacing it(as it'd cost a lot to do that) but looking at how amazing sidefx is evolving with every update, it seems like its only a matter of time before that happens. Once houdini becomes all vulkan, it'll be the hottest talk of the town.

@@FullGardenStudent yeah. My company is still stuck to a good degree on Maya. Lots of effort was put in building the internal tools. I curse it every time I open hypershade.

@@FullGardenStudent unfortunately Autodesk own a sh!t ton of other tools so it's unlikely to go bankrupt soon.
@pdjinne65 Жыл бұрын
@@AyushBakshi bifrost is just a pugin. Maya's base architecture is flawed, because it has never been updated and it's severely outdated, imho. The API is bloated too. It would need a reboot to be competitive. On the other hand, at each one of Houdini's iterations, I feel like a child before Christmas who cannot wait to play with his new toy ❤

The Amazing feature is never mentioned... The possibility to Indie Artists to get in contact with this Technology and produce for a reasonable price... I'm truly saying that because I'm not sponsored and I paid my Indie License and I cannot regret since I started to learn Houdini like a couple of years ago... Houdini is the best!!! Thank you for making dreaming into a procedural tool called Houdini! May the dynasty last 10,000 years!

The dynasty might last 4 or 5 years. Before generative AI makes human artists nearly obsolete :(
@PandaJerk007 Жыл бұрын
@@crystalparticle7349 I hope you are right, but I could see people with zero art or technical 3d skills write prompts like "give me a 3d scene of a beach with palm trees and a large alien ship looming overhead. I want simulations for steam and energy rolling off the alien ship, and the palm trees and waves of the ocean blowing from the force of the nearby ship". So like in 2 minutes the AI will generate a gorgeous 3d scene, and us artists will just slow down the process.
@Countryballs_Animation_Studios Жыл бұрын
AI is not just about art, it can be used in many other aspects, AI is already used in rendering denoisers, and probably in various other aspects like animation etc, you can integrate it in simulations and it will determine the supposed path of the particle, helping in faster simulations, lets face it AI is after all a fragment of human creativity created by human creativity, it will probably never reach our expertise by 100% @@PandaJerk007

@AndreiChifan Жыл бұрын
@@romancech2723 which studios use Max beside Scanline and Blur? Max was widely used, yes. But Maya has taken it’s place since ages and it’s a totally different story today as Houdini seems to be the preferred choice for scene assembly and lighting. Even above Katana sometimes. At least in Europe. Because it’s truly procedural. I don’t know exactly what the current situation in Asia/US is, but from what I talked with some artists Gaffer is rarely used, Katana is used a lot, Maya still is, but I never heard 1 person say he/she loves working in Maya. Max is still widely used in Arch Viz but less and less in VFX/Games besides maybe modelling and a bit of FX. Yeah tyFlow, Pheonix etc are amazing, but I think Houdini has a more solid point for documentation/community etc. Houdini really lacks at destructive modelling/sculpting but maybe H25 will also have that in the future lol
